The problem with getting our experienced/senior/expensive players to play better than they have is going to be the challenge. If they don't believe the extra effort will provide them with anything extra such as a premiership then getting them to buy into a rebuild (of any size) is going to be the challenge. They are employees and outside of a pay packet a premiership is probably the only thing that can motivate them to work a little harder.St Chris wrote:A core of Roo, Hayes, Dal, Goddard, Montagna, Fisher etc should still be playing finals footy.
Our problem is this, one is playing as a $600,000 decoy, and we wont see another until 2012. Only Dal and Fisher have been consistently respectable this year.
We dont need a full bottom out/start again. We need games into quality kids, and we need our experienced players to play better than they have been.
I would think that if we show a little promise early in 2012 then that may increase the team belief. Early wins would be critical though. I can't wait to see which way it falls.
