gorgeous day today but primed to get worse:Thinline wrote:How is the weather looking down there?bigred wrote:Roo is gonna be primed for this one....mainly dry track....Look out.
wed: shower or two. windy.
thurs: few showers.
fri: shower or two.
sat: few showers.
so there's definitely going to be rain between now and then. i'd expect the ground to be softish, similar to the geelong game, but i think we'd be pretty unlucky if there was rain during the game.

Morris now supposedly passed fit to play.

UPDATE 5.40pm: WESTERN Bulldogs defender Dale Morris has been given the all clear to play this weekend by his surgeon.
Morris' season was considered finished when he suffered a hairline fracture of the vertebrae just three weeks ago, during the Bulldogs' Round 21 loss to the Swans.
But after a meeting with his doctor this afternoon, the key defender is set to make a miracle return to the field.
“Following a review with a specialist this afternoon, defender Dale Morris has been cleared to continue training and remains in contention for Saturday night’s preliminary final against St Kilda," football manager James Fantasia said.
“At this stage Dale will most likely be named in this week’s side but a final decision will not be made until after Friday’s training session,â€

Would be amazed. And a huge gamble on their part given the import of the game.
Doesn't matter either way though.
If Morris is ultimately the one that stands in the way we don't deserve a crack at the biggie.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Well it is a specialist not a club Doctor. We may use the same one. Who knows but I reckon footy clubs are very professional. Only a guess but I reckon a poor specialist would know more than anyone on here who hasnt seen an xrays.SaintPav wrote:How would YOU know that?plugger66 wrote:How would you know that. I know that the spine is important to the structure and that is about as much as I'm going to say. I could say more but I wont.plugger66 wrote:Well it is a specialist not a club Doctor. Further to that, I am sure nobody wants to be the guy who tackles or bumps him, that results in serious injury...saint64 wrote:We aren't talking a cracked rib, arm or collarbone here. Let's hope that sense prevails and that he doesn't play. No one (including our players) wants to see him sustain serious permanent injury.

Goodness knows what one of Mooney's in the backs, that may not be in the back, but is probably in the back, and in fact is definitely in the back, would do to poor Dale's spine!
I'd be more worried about Kosi's pack smashing...Dr Spaceman wrote:Lucky the Dogs aren't playing the Cats.SainterK wrote:Further to that, I am sure nobody wants to be the guy who tackles or bumps him, that results in serious injury...saint64 wrote:We aren't talking a cracked rib, arm or collarbone here. "It is not as if he has had a hammy or a soft-tissue injury," Darcy said. "As big as a broken back is, it is probably better than the alternative in this case."

He certainly might......and in the lead up they sre using the hype to try and boost the team morale...bigcarl wrote:agree. in fact they shouldn't be allowed to play him.SainterK wrote:We are not talking about tight hamstring, or a sore foot here....the guy has broken his back, I hope they don't play him purely for his welfare
THE miraculous recovery of Western Bulldogs defender Dale Morris is almost complete, with a positive medical report boosting his chances of playing in Saturday night's preliminary final.
Morris emerged from a visit to spinal specialist Dr Peter Wilde with the green light to play - as long as he completes training this week without discomfort.
I hope he does not play for a number of reasons.
