A lot of jumper pulling and holding the ball decisions seemed to be missed down his end

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

I rarely comment on the umpy's but it's getting more and more frustrating. Was nothing like this last year. Were we getting a good run last year? Has our game style attack on the ball/man changed? I said to my mate half way through the last quarter - 'I can barely remember a free kick being paid to us in the second half' It feels like we're getting the raw end of the stick every week.

St Kilda got a grand total of 2 frees kicks for the entire second half.
The mongrels got 11.

That almost matches the first apparent free kick in the third quarter against Port last week. Still can't work out where the rest came from.
But Kosi got a pretty soft one in the first quarter.

Asides from defeders being continually allowed to hold Milne in the contest or when he doesnt have posession I thought the rest of the umpiring was good.

All we ask for is for them to pay them to both sides. Right now we are consistantly not being rewarded for our tackles or hard ball gets
We were screwed over in the last half and when the above happened I completely flipped out.

Milne needs to learn to stop throwing his hands in the air when tackled without the ball - go to ground son - if you are going to milk it - don't throw your arms up immediately - it looks so staged and pre-planned. let the tackler take you down or find another way to get the umpires attention.
When he handballs infront of himself it is so he can draw the free - but he looks so rehearsed when he does it.

Umpires must have been bad - not even plugger66 is here to defend the indefensible

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Mauled in marking contests.......scragged relentlessly at ground level.........it's crap. A free is a free, rehearsed or otherwise. The maggots have it in for him ATM.........so obvious.
Hudson took one straight out of the ruck and was tackled straight away, that has been holding the ball for the past 5 years. We need an explanation from Gieshen why the rules to Milne are different to the rest of the competition.

Was it 'softer' than the one Roughead got from Jimmy Gwilt (resulted in a goal) just prior to the one not paid to Milne highlighted in this thread?
In the rule book there is no mention of degrees of frees - soft, medium, hard.
A free kick must be paid if there is a transgression of the rules, no matter if it is soft/hard.
The Lake one on Kosi was a deliberate 'push' on Kosi.
Lake was complaining and demonstrating how he didn't use his hands but his shoulder.
Unfortunately for him it makes no difference what you use - a push in the back before the marking contest is always a free kick.
And so it should be.

That was the one that really irked me. I know the umps can make mistakes, and maybe they just missed it, but that was the final straw from a large number of holding the ball decisions not paid to us, yet the dogs seemed to win theirs. Consistency is all we ask.

And they'll always pay it if its two actions, which his definitely was

Not very bright, bless his cotton socks. It was a virtual hip and shoulder in the middle of Kosi's back, but I spose Brian would complain had he kicked Kosi in the middle of the back instead.

Umpiring was adequate tonight
If only the umpires had not missed the free kicks against St Kilda for offside the Doggies would have won.
The linesmen should have raised their flags to help the referee.
The goal umpires should have raised their flags quicker so the referee could see them.
Passing the ball to a player with no-one between him and the goals is clearly a free.
Ask anyone from the A league.

What annoys me more than the number of frees paid, is where they are paid. Last night the Dogs got at least two of their six goals from frees. We seem to get most 0f ours in the back half.
A number of terrible mis decisions re holding the ball/holding the man against us.
Kosi 50 an absolute joke. The 50 mter penalty is a joke in itself. FAR FAR too harsh for the majority of reasons its given for, FAR too harsh. Blight on the game.
