I fully cried when Geelong scored their last goal. Twas a little bit embarrassing because one of mates was sitting behind me.
Thankfully in New Zealand it was dark and he couldn't see the tears. The sobbing and sniffing...well that was rather audible. And to top it off...we had a house full of people that night for a mates birthday...was sooooooooooooo not wanting to see people. My mum, dad, sister, brother and several mates in Australia sent texts to see if I was ok. Very nice of them.
And yes...always next year. One of the most hated statements of all time.
Anyway...as always Go Saints!!! I was sooooo proud of them. They tried sooooo hard. FORTIUS QUO FIDELIUS. Will always be here.

Was totally shellshocked after the match - cold, wet , sad. Tears really started reading the article 'wall of tears' about the boys in the rooms afterwards.
Don't know how many times workmates offered 'but you played so well' and 'Ãt was such a good game' as condolences that simply made it all much much worse.

Thought Bomber Thompson showed some rare humility and understanding with "footy sucks sometime"..
Amen to that
But time to look forward now people

-theres always next year
this is the worst one imo. I don't give a f*** about next year right now.
-when people who hardly watch footy tell me what went wrong
like you know, stfu and gtfo. I no what went wrong and I don't need some GF day hero telling me what went wrong.
-the so called mates who sent me messages to have a cheap shot at me after the game.
this really s*** me. all got a grilling.
-people continue to bring it up.
seriously I do not want to talk about it. All is good when im not thinking about it.

I understand exactly where you are coming from...the emotional investment which burnt us so badly can't be reinvested this soon...will take a summer and the smell of a preseason to do this.
This is what upset me on Saturday apart from not seeing the players reach the pinnacle...its the gutrenching for the loyal, long suffering supporter base...saw an old guy probably in his 70's just staring out to the ground after the siren and it almost ripped me in two...was probably thinking that may be my last chance to realise the dream.
Thoughts of Baldock not handing the cup to Roo was just a painful
This needs to rectified but as you said its just too soon to even think about...
Almost looking forward to footy being off the back page and the cricket season
Sigh!!!

worst part of the aftermarth
A friend who is a Geelong supporter sent me a text that was supposed to make me feel better!!!!
"There is always next year. I know how you must feel. I was like that last year."
I DON"T THINK SO!
Geelong won the premiership one year earlier, we have been waiting 43 years. It's NOT the same!!!!
Roll on 2010! PLEASE let it be our year!
