On another note the comments on the facebook update are funny, every comment is about goose, "wheres matt" "whats he done" . Nothing mentioning Ball and Gards.

anyone of a number could pop up at FF or CHF for that matter with roo playing deeper

depending on the state of the game

BJ , Blakey

or a smallish mobile FF like their Johno ....
Milney Schneids NDS

recon RL has a few tricks up his sleeve this week!!
and why not keep em guessing!
we don't care and we can speculate all we like on here!

Didn't expect Goose to get a shot for this match, Jimmy (I thought) would be line ball, but if he's in good form will be a handy inclusion.

A bit more or a like for like substitution than I thought for this match, Ball was never a chance though, Geary, Armo, Lynch experiments...at least shows we're aiming to win this one. Woo!

As I mentioned a couple of times, I like the idea of Milne as FF as it would stuff Lakes high marking and if we were to have a more tallish HF Line and a small FF line it may just force Lake to play on Roo.

The Dogs are a fast, small side.
The Goose is slow and tall.

So he was never going to come in this week.

But maybe against Sydney, or Hawthorn or North.
Prob not against Essendon.

There's always Melb in Round 22 ?

It's only on paper remember...

The side will not line up as stated.

Either as I stated before with Milne as FF then Lake will more than likely go CHB and he will not have the stamina to play in that position, let alone playing on Roo.

OR

Blake to play in the ruck against Ben Hudson to nullify his possessions around the ground and McEvoy to play FF, with Max, Sam Fisher and Gilbert in the back half

Gives us a very flexible line-up I think you'll find, with any number of possible forward options. But hey, RL has shown he hasn't got a clue what he's doing all year so far, so you might be right.

Let's not write off Goose too quickly..

He is (and has) the sort of character that never says die.

He may yet be required for finals (and who knows, maybe the big one)?

He is still a very handy player to call up if needed.

How nice for the Saints (and frustrating for Matt) that there is such pressure to get a place in the team...

Maxie may not have much time left with the Saints (soft tissue letting him down), and Zac and Matt up back with Sam is still a mighty backline for the future...

hasn't kicked a football in anger for three weeks, so he should be fresh, but good form is a bit harder to promise.

i think he played defensive forward on lake last time round and did a pretty good job, so i reckon that's what will happen again.

R6:

Lake: 14 disp, 8 k/6 hb, 6 m, 2 tck, 1 behind
Gwilt: 13 disp, 8 k/5 hb, 3 m, 3 tck, 4 i50s, 1 goal, 1 goal assist

Exactly right...

Gwilt is listed to play on the interchange

Another Gwilt basher one suspects

DEAR COACH

Gee thanks for the vote of confidence.
And thanks for letting me know that you rate me in the club's best 40 players but not in the best 30.
A trade to Carlton woud be acceptable.
They will not only allow me to play AFL football but will pay me a few extra hundred thousand to be Visy's ambassador to Australia's geese population.

Doubt that would be Goose's attitude but if it was:-

Dear Goose
Sorry that we supported you when you injured yourself and we showed faith in you to recover - which you did - but then re-injured yourself. If you think Carlton would do the same and help you in your rehab - and allow you the time needed to recover than say hello to Humpty Dumpty and Little Bo-Peep in fairy tale land.

Sorry to see you go - in truth - you did have a spot at St Kilda - but petulance blows all opportunities.

Sincerely
Your Coach (and team mates)

What a crock. You have to earn a spot through demanding it by your on-field performances. Not by being one game short of a 100 and being everyone's favourite sympathy doll. FFS get a grip.
If he's disgusted he can F*** off. If he's disappointed - good. He can work harder to earn a spot. Hard to break into a side that's 16 - 0.
