A mate who umpired his son in under age cricket once told me that he had to tell his son that no matter the batsman was on the back foot, hit shin high in front of middle and comprehensively LBW, the batsman would not be given because the bowler was his son.

So his advice to his son was "get your wicket by either sending the stumps flying or having the batsman caught".

The son understood.
And there are other people who have only one eye when their children do sport and favour them in every way. I reckon Loewe could have voted guity or not guity myself.

I have a fair idea that no one on this forum knows exactly what happened when the tribunal retired to deliberate.

Speculation and finger pointing won't reverse the decision, so I suggest we all look at this week's game.

The Club rolled the dice and lost. Stiff yes, but that's life.
