Really? I thought Mini was in our top 5 against the Crows. Starting to show what he promised at junior level.
Mini is a tough little cracker and will keep his place. Not a super mid, but that's not his job.

He is - in the words of Lethal - one of the lesser talents who's job is to hussle and make space for the skilled players to do their job.

I liked what Mini was doing last night, hard at it, getting the contested pill and being able to feed off to advantage. Was in my top 5 so keep it up fella.

Yes i am/was one of Minis doubters but am very willing to eat humble pie :?

Consider what players if fit should be a look in for the 22:

Maxy, Raph, X, Armo, Eddy, Dempster (2nd half of the year). That's 6 players.

I don't include Goose, I think he is a long way off. Just needs to string together a number of games and gradually work back into it. I like Eddy, has some limitations, but has come up a level through the pre-seaon. Dempster was very good in the back pocket, but might struggle to get a place.

Obviously Max get in for dawson,

But from there is gets more difficult. The candidates for lose their spots:

Gwilt - Getting better, has some upside
Jones - great work rate, poor decision-making and disposal skills, but RL likes him
Geary - I think he has a lot of upside and worth keeping
King - 2 ruck combo is good, but we could be a bit top heavy. With Raph back in, gilbert can go forward, which adds a 3 marking & mobile tall. Therefore, frees up Kosi to be a danaging mobile forward-ruck player.
??- Who else?

Suddenly, our depth looks good.

I thought Mini was among our best too.
For mine Dawson has only been keeping Max's place warm for him. Raph is also an automatic return.
Armitage would have to be considered at some time as well.

Max is still the far better option and would walk in for zac no questions asked.
The big plus is that Dawson looks like he could be groomed into a full back's role for next year when Max retires.

goos might come in as a third forward and keep gilbert back...swing them around maybe

i believe it might depend on match up's as to who players where

maguire needs to be in the team when fit and confident however...he is too good a player to leave out

raph for....geary???

x...pass

maxy in for dawson...depends who we play and their opposition forward line as to dawsons chances of playing senior footy

Intersting article in the paper by Buckley about the evolving FF. Not sure if Goose will fit that role.

As FWD's become more mobile, the need arises for more mobile dfenders to go with them.

Hence, it will be interesting to see how he goes.

the only one i worry about is goose. He's not the quickest bloke in the world but is capable of running up and kickin a few when needed.

i think it will take him a few games to get back up with the pace of it but itll be one of those things that will hopefully pay off and he'll be back playin like he did a few years back

Can't see any changes this week.

Max for Zac when ready, and, Raph will be back as soon as he's fit.

B: Gilbert, Hudghton, Baker
HB: S.Fisher, Blake, R.Clarke
C: Gram, Hayes, Goddard
HF: X.Clarke, Riewoldt, Montagna
F: Schneider, Koschitzke, Milne

Foll: Gardiner, Ball, Dal Santo
Int: Ray, McQualter, X.Clarke, Geary

That's a team that could seriously push for the top 4.
A good team but I'd keep Kingy and Jones (you've got X twice). Jones and Geary at present are both worthy but I think Jonesy before Geary.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
