Actually, IIRC, it was David Perry as President/Chairman in 1986/1987 who came up with the idea to market ourselves as 'The Southern Saints'. I remember distinctly being at a ore-season gathering where the name, song and promotional video were unveiled.
I'm pretty sure it was our official name for one season.

The only change I'd like to see - an addition - would be to add the following to "St. Kilda"... Premiers

Seriously tho, there might come a day when we drop St.kilda and become simply The Saints FC.

I really hate it when teams are referred to with their nicknames only a la the ridiculous Super 14 convention
Its St Kilda v Collingwood...NOT St Kilda Saints v Collingwood Magpies hate that!!
