Armitage dominated the last couple quarters, plenty of run and a few great tackles, really got into one of the Tigers players on the wing, I love the bloke!

McEvoy and Allen were great kicking 5 between em in the 3rd quarter, both took a great grab as well. McEvoy not doin that well in the ruck, but he looks like a decent forward. If he could become a decent ruckmen we could have a very handy player comin up for us.

Great comeback by Casey, hope they can get up for the win.

Steven's miss at the end of the game was the difference in the end. Geary had a great last quarter. Armo, Allen and McEvoy were excellent.

Fiora tried a cute spin out of trouble on the HF line with 30 secs to go but got caught then sat on the ball and got pinged.

Not much there for us really.
Armo's to good for the 2's.
Geary plays well at that level but can't step up at this stage.
Lot's of ordinary kicks out there.

Recruiters need to find some players that can kick

So why isn't Armo playing in our team then?
He should of never been dropped.

Because in his last 3 games he had - 6, 7 and 9 disposals respectively.
Deserved to be dropped.

Yes he should have.

Why not post a bit more reasoning for all of us to read, instead of just making silly statement like the one above.

He was ordinary for a few weeks in a row in the seniors.....Thats why he got dropped.

Yeh him getting dropped was fair enough, kinda in an awkward position of being too good for the seconds and not up to it in the firsts.

We seem to have a lot of blokes like that.

At least he's got a lot of room for imporovement.

Geary's final quarter intensity and run was absoloutly brilliant.
Allen's goal was supurb.
Ferguson's marks in defence were strong and inspiring.

But in the end it wasn't a team performance, the players were trying stuff out of their capabilities and you can't play catch up football and expect to win.

Was a great game to watch though  :D

After watching that Casey game I learned some things about St Kilda listed players.

HOWARD- Improving. His run was good and his hitting targets has improved. His defensive work on Collard was really bad. Poor body work, missed tackles and spoils cost several goals. Seems to lack intensity. Interesting to see if Lyon has lost patience and will cut him or not.

FIORA- Terrible!!! Who was the idiot who signed this soft whimp for next year? Missed tackles, blind turning into tackles, missed targets, too easily pushed off the ball and when blocked off the ball he does not fight to stay in the play. If I was Casey coach he would be in the seconds next week. So far from AFL standard, it is unbelievable.

McEVOY- Looked good as a forward. Great to see a goal from the boundary, contested mark in forward line, pick up below knees and pass to Allen. Lets see if he can make more contests next year. Needs to work on his mobility and ruckwork over the summer.

CHIVERS- Does some nice things. Poise in traffic is good. Has mobility. I would see how he goes for the last few games for Casey before committing to delisting him. Better than Fiora anyway.

RIX- More of the same. Tries hard. No skill.

ARMITAGE- One trick pony. Too left sided. Puts his head over the ball OK but always kicks or handballs on left side. Not quick enough to be so one sided. Not good enough for AFL. One of many crap round one picks by St Kilda. Positive is brave and tackles well. Needs to work on his deficiencies over the summer or may not last past next year on the list.

FERGUSON- Good game at VFL standard. Delist. Had his chances.

STEVEN- Looks good at finding space. Good skills. Natural footballer. After a full preseason we will know more.

GEARY and ALLEN will get another year to improve on deficiencies. Good games from both but clangers hurt the good work.

A few may make AFL standard.

Cheers.

Armo and Geary clearly best for mine. Wall's marking overhead was very good/disposal poor. Ferg Was reliable down back.

I love Armo and I believe he and Geary are very unlucky not to be in the ones.

The intensity of the Armo that I saw play today was vastly different to the majority of what he has served up in the ones. Why?

Fiora was played as a tagger and showed me nothing more than what I expect from him, that is I think that he will be very lucky to be on the list next year, unless of course he has a contract? Steven's was quiet but okay. Allen is coming along and his upside will be immense IMO. Big Mc should be ready to take a senior spot next year.

Because in the ones, every single player has that same level of intensity and you don't notice it. At the lower level, there aren't as many blokes who play with the same intensity, and so it stands out more when you see it.

He's gunna make it. He's going just as well as Lenny at the same point in Hayes' career. Give him time.

It is funny that you mention Lenny. I thought of him as the closest in profile

Don't know who gives the bests votes.

Leigh Fisher was nowhere to be seen for the first half at least.
Wall's kicking was the worst i've seen in a long time.
Armitage and Geary were good, but only in the second half.
McEvoy played a solid game throughout, kicked goals, and was great at ground level.
C. Howat was always getting pinged for frees and giving up the ball.
Collard was clearly BOG for them.

The way i'd have it.

Casey: McEvoy, Panozza, Armitage, Allen, Geary, Wall
Coburg: Collard, Rance..... then whoever else.

Could be the CHB we need. Skills are good and can read the play.

Effort is inconsistent. Failed to chase and shepherd a few times, but laid some great tackles.

Where did Chivers come from? 2 weeks ago he was playing in the casey 2nds, no one knew who he was, was injured for half the season, and had no hope of being retained at the end of the year.

But his game today was far from bad. Hughes beat him in a couple contests, but at the end of the day he only had 1 goal next to his name (I think)
