Would CJ get a game at most teams? I don't know, its how you value your list.

as mentioned in another thread you have your top echelon marquee players, the untouchables that it would burn you to lose.

then you value down the list, trying to squeeze them all into the salary cap.

IMO CJ has value in our current team in teh current set up.

also he needs to return this sort of form regularly.

his disposal accuracy is getting better.

12 months ago he could tackle, and have 8 disposals a game of which 1/2 picked out an opposition player and the other half were out on the full.

now he's hitting targets regularly.

in fact I would say he is the most improved player at st kilda at this point of the season.

last year I was, amongst others calling for his delisting, I though he was about the worst player in the side regularly getting a game.

2008, and he's close to being in the starting 22, and probably getting picked aheaad of others like birss, x and R clarke, fiora, and others.

Give him the #4.

Epitomises Andrew Thompson's work ethic, hard running, tackling, and kicking skills :D

I am amazed that there are still people here who consider CJ a fringe player.

What does he have to do? He has consistently got possessions, tackled well,

put in and improved his disposal of the ball.

Spot on. On his current form - he would play in most senior AFL teams this week. All a player can do is improve with each game. Jones has done this. He must be an absolute dream to coach, he has identified his flaws and worked his ar$e off to eradicate them. He is a wonderful example of someone giving his absolute maximum in every contest. I wouldn't like to play on him because those tackles he lays really stick. And he has something we haven't seen a lot of in St Kilda teams - PACE. Extreme PACE.

I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

I've gotta say that his last game was very good. For the first time, when he got the footy he seemed to know where he wanted it to go and had confidence in disposing of it.

Last week he played by far the best game of his career and if he can keep that form up then he could be a handy player.

CJ is easily the most improved player on our list, from the start I always loved the ferocity with which he attacked both the ball and the opposition. Has clearly been working overtime on his disposal.
Will be in our best 22 for the rest of the year without doubt, and with another solid pre-season he will be starting on the wing in 2009.
