Very true but i never like to reveal scources because it can get people in trouble.WayneJudson42 wrote:When has "acting irresponsible" stopped anyone on this forum?
Lets just say the game plan has to put it nicely been evolving just about every week to the point where they are going to be playing attacking footy from now on

The Jack Barker thing really turned me around. The man is a true great of the St kilda footy club and just a great bloke in general. Didn't know he was in hospital. So all the best.
But it is really good to see Ross embrace us
Lets all get behind him and go and watch the saints kick a cricket score in the wet at the G tonight
All out attack??! Hardly likely. Then there is the issue of consistancy over 4 quarters! I have given up on entertaining attacking football from this lot, Im just going hoping for the win !!!!!!!!!!!
I think you will be pleasantly surprised then. Anyone who has seen me post knows i am not the most positive person. So for me to be this upbeat the scource must be credibleiwantmeseats wrote:NoMore wrote:Loved the article today and am going to the football tonight knowing that the saints are striving for all out attack.

I hope so. My view has been that once we got the hang of the defensive stuff, we could become more attacking. Problem was that if we got shut down in the past... we got rolled.
Reminded me of the Geelong teams of late 80's and early 90's under Blight. Won by huge margins in the home n away season, but got rolled on GF day.
That's what tempo footy is about: know when to heold 'em if the opp is getting a run-on... then counter attack.
I recall Geelong being criticised for chipping around etc not so long ago.
Fingers crossed.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

You know what, I don't care if Ross loves the club.
Would I care if my Employee loved the company he worked for? Nope.
You have a job, and you do it to the best of your ability. Since when was it a job requirement to love your institution?
Huge beat-up by the media, they should ask the same to Wallace, Eade, or some of the other "Career" coaches.

I find it very interesting that Allen is still being thrown about as a key back.St DAC wrote: ROSS LYON: Jarryd Allen?
He’s playing his third game this week. He’s a tall forward, maybe a key back. He’s really hard working and he took a couple of contested marks against North. He had a big contest against three North players on a wing which was pleasing.
Jack Steven?
He’s one with real talent. He’s quick, still doing VCE and was one of the best for the Geelong Falcons last year. We hope to see him play seniors before the season is out.
Brad Howard?
Was a second round player out of Queensland, he’s progressed and we are confident he will get there in the end.
Looks like he agrees with what we have seen of Jack Steven. Will be great for us.
Howard, seems pretty tight lipped about. I think he's coming on really well, but isn't taking to being played in the backline, I just don't think he has the size to be a defender.
I don't think Steven and McEvoy will play if we're having a full tilt go at the finals though.

Dont think Howard or Steven got a game for caset this week so dont they will play this year unless we get injuries or are out of the finals race.Otiman wrote:I find it very interesting that Allen is still being thrown about as a key back.St DAC wrote: ROSS LYON: Jarryd Allen?

In truth we probably saw that with the dropping of Dal Santo and Milne.JeffDunne wrote:I think we're finally seeing a bloke taking ownership of his team.
Probably 12 months later than we needed but better late than never.
Lyon sent a message - hed had enough.
He- as I have REPEATEDLY - said DOES think about the game. He understands it and technically will improve this football side. His efforts in getting involved in targeting the BEST options fitness-wise and getting them to the club, in ensuring the club moves fwd with REAL ruck options and now in ensuring we find out whether or not the Gwilts, Mqualters, Fergusons, Allens et al can play tell you he has a plan and is now about implementing it.
Questions about "love"for St Kilda are best left for weak @ssed journo's who deal in supposition an innuendo for all things non-Richmond.
Ross will be fine - despite what Dodg bemoans.

I wouldnt say I just watched "all out attack" I watched a side start slow, win for the next 2 qtrs, stumble and go into its shell for 15 mins of last (and were a little lucky - Geelong wouldve slammed on 8 in that time and goodnight saints) BUT we did se a side fight back and regain composure which is a good sign.NoMore wrote:We will see all out attack. Good to see the McKinnon High sentence construction skills kicking in again for De Plug. What does it mean?

We all want to win a flag mate, but you've got to smell the roses along the way. What will it take to make you have an enjoyable Friday night? That was a good win against a determined - albeit inferior - team. Lets be clear here a little....Ive had enough smelling roses along the "journey" over the last 5 Golden Grant years.Harvey To Hayes wrote:We all want to win a flag mate, but you've got to smell the roses along the way. Im wrapt we won. I enjoy Fridays - no matter.
But spare me your nonsensical "mate" shyte cause we just managed to beat a side who have been bottom 4 for 7 years. Im after improvement towards a premiership NOT backslapping flogularity.
Nothing wrong with admitting we got a long way to go - only the same, typical St Kilda flog wheels out the mediocrity banner after a win like that.
Talk to me when we roll the Hawks.

Teffers, we do need to enjoy tonight. Clutch game, kicked 18, won running away. 'Twas a good result. We're improving. Where we're at I have no idea.
But, the bloke in charge is getting results by flipping it around, and playing youth. I think we're in a good place with improvement to come.

Im not disagreeing with you at all Thommo - your spot on and Ive been defending the bloke in charge from some flogs on here ad nauseum. The OtherThommo wrote:Teffers, we do need to enjoy tonight. I guess Im always looking for the "where to get better" angle and get back to being disvussed in the same sentence as Geelong.
Carlton do have a lot to look fwd to I will admit that. Gibbs was awesome tonight - shimmied tackles well....Murphy in patches...I wanna make sjre the domination continues I guess....

The 2 big results tonight were Dempster on Stevens and McQualter on Murphy. Dempster was terrific and McQualter's come back from oblivion (and I thought he stuck well on Boomer late 2 weeks ago).
The Boss is getting results and his match ups are starting to bear fruit. We're on the up. Hawthorn is the scalp we want and I think we may get. They're struggling and of all the key defenders in the game, Max is the fella for Buddy.
I just love the way the Boss raps his senior players. He loves Max and Max keeps lifting accordingly. Buddy's snag meat 'cos Max is that good. Let's see him turn Max - won't happen.

Yeah i especially loved how Bryce did a quality impression of Josh Hunt by not going back with the flight and gifting Mini a goal. Lots of talent. No courage.Teflon wrote:Im not disagreeing with you at all Thommo - your spot on and Ive been defending the bloke in charge from some flogs on here ad nauseum. The OtherThommo wrote:Teffers, we do need to enjoy tonight. We attacked and attacked hard. Loved watching them play last night. First time i have enjoyed watching us play for a long time. Came home with no voice. Gave a couple of scum supporters a spray.
So for the moment i am backing RL which is a big turn around for me as u might know.
Big test this week

No you haven't.Teflon wrote:Ive been defending the bloke in charge from some flogs on here ad nauseum.
You have defended the process that employed him and have said the coach shouldn't be sacked for the sake of stability.
You have never produced one statement as to why you thought RL was the right man for the job.
