better word for it is compo....
kanga's don't get a handout, they get an equalisation payment for the crap draw that gets bought out each year.
Carlton and interest free loans on the other hand................

5 of your list were prior to the OP's original timeframe.sax wrote:We have 16 FIRST ROUND draft picks on our list at the moment.

4 on the list were as a result of our trading - not us using earned first round draft picks.
If I read teh OP's original question correctly the argument was as to which club Saints/Kangas had had more first round draft picks since 2000.
Obvioulsy you can 'spin' the question into whichever way suits your pov.
On face value it would appear that NM have had more 'first round draft picks' - earned or traded for.

Rubbish! The argument was that we have more FIRST ROUND picks than any other club, they are first round picks.Con Gorozidis wrote:cant count gehrig, fiora, gardner. so we have 13.sax wrote:We have 16 FIRST ROUND draft picks on our list at the moment.

We have to count them!!
What's the reason we can't?
As far as I'm concerned we have 16 first round picks onour list (11 since 2000, if that's his argument), Our list has more "1st round" drafted players on it than any other club!

The idea here was that we picked some players who were promising juniors, but failed to deliver on their expectations at other clubs. Therefore we take a gamble on the fact that they might have just not been dealt with properly and could be turned around to reflect their junior form.
Fiora showed signs but ultimately failed. M. Gardiner is a good'un.
