Here is the definitive list ....

There have been VFL/AFL games played at 37 venues since 1897.

Harvey has now (well later today) played at 19 of them ...

MCG
Moorabbin
Docklands
Waverley Park
Victoria Park
Windy Hill
Whitten Oval
Princes Park
Kardinia Park
Subiaco
Launceston (Aurora)
Canberra (Manuka)
Telstra Stadium
SCG
Gabba
Football Park
WACA
North Hobart Oval

plus Carrara makes 19

That leaves 18 VFL/AFL venues that The Great Man will never have played at.
Just for completeness they are ...

Albury
Arden St
Brisbane Exhibition ground
Bruce Stadium
Brunswick St
Coburg City Oval
Corio Oval
East Melb
Euroa
Glenferrie
Junction Oval
Lake Oval
Marrara Oval
Motordome
Punt Rd
Toorak Park
Yallourn
Yarraville

It is worth pointing out that Harves will be level with Paul Salmon on 19 venues.
No-one has played at more venues.
Perhaps if he played on another year and we play the Dogs in Darwin (Marrara). .........

And no-one is likely to match this record now that our venues have been steralised and homogenised.

FYI
the company Harvey leaves behind on 18 venues are ...
Doug Hawkins, Gary Ayres, Gavin Wanganeen
and some guy called Nathan Burke.

Robert Harvey still a star as St Kilda hits Gold CoastArticle from: Font size: Decrease Increase Email article: Email Print article: Print Submit comment: Submit comment Andrew Hamilton

ROBERT Harvey has seen firsthand the evolution of football from a national hobby to the age of professionalism.

The first time he payed at Carrara is the perfect example.

As Harvey's Saints prepare for their first premiership game on the Gold Coast in 20 years, he recalled his first trip to the region back in 1989. It was his first game back in the reserves after an ankle injury.

"It was a funny old game," he said.

"TV has just come on the scene in a bigger way.

"We were miles up, but the Bears started coming back and were going to overrun us for sure.

"But I reckon five minutes into the final quarter the siren went, they had botched up the whole scheduling of the TV and had to get us off so the main game could start. It was pretty bizarre, everyone was just looking around wondering what was going on, we just ran off and took the points but the Bears guys weren't happy."
