Answering the thread's question:

Gilbert
Montagna
S Fisher
C Jones
Geary

These are the only players on our list who have 'improved' their games while RL has been at the helm.

However I think improvement has SFA to do with the coach as a person...game plan, what position they are playing in, injuries in the team all dictate this...

the last coach to 'top' up with ageing stars was timmy watson, picking up guns like monkhorst, delany and tony francis.

once again under RL, st kilda has become the retirement home for aging stars to get one last pay packet before their next career.

Irrspective of what players came when and why, the actual point is he has demonstrated a complete lack of ability to set up a team structure, and a lack of ability to change things round within said structure. These signs , be it winning or losing with ordinary players, are still easy to spot within the context of any game. The only difference is how often it comes off.

Sorry. Ross has failed IMO.

Hawthorn are not that different a list to where they were last year, and this year they are a quantumn improvement, from within what they had.

geelong were between rubbish and good in 2006 and with not much difference look 100% better in 2007 and 2008.

you can point at the list and shuffle the decks and bring in new deckchairs, but a good coach can get players to play to their potential.

how many players are playing to their potential at st kilda?

x, dal santo, montagna seem to have all the flair crushed out of them.
