I've been trying to keep a lid on Dempstermania, but I'll stick up for the guy: he wasn't that bad and deserves another run. He played a fair chunk of the game on Steve Johnson and while Johnson definitely got the better of him, I thought he showed some promise. He showed much more of a nose for the ball than he ever did at Sydney. His disposal was pretty ordinary, but it was really more his decisions than his excecution that let him down. It was his first AFL game in a long time and I'll cut the guy a little slack given his first task was shutting down an AA level forward. Next week he should get a less stellar opponent and should be better for a game under his belt.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

Probably the worst thing I saw from him was at one stage his opponent made a lead (starting about 20m from goal directly in front) and Dempster didn't even realise it and start chasing until he was 15m clear and his opponent was allowed to take an uncontested mark inside 50. That is a far worse concerntration lapse than anything I have ever seen from Raph Clarke.
The worst thing I saw was in the last qtr when Dempster had the ball just outside of the a flooded saints Forward 50, Tried to handball over a geelong players head but ended up passing it straight to him instead. Geelong ran the ball down the empty field a kicked a goal within 10 seconds of the original turnovermad saint guy wrote:Probably the worst thing I saw from him was at one stage his opponent made a lead (starting about 20m from goal directly in front) and Dempster didn't even realise it and start chasing until he was 15m clear and his opponent was allowed to take an uncontested mark inside 50. No problems, we will give them a few weeks, meanwhile we will slip down to the bottom of the ladder.CURLY wrote:I take it your joking right?saintsRrising wrote:His height is listed at 192 and 191cm..on various sites

Dempster always looked to pass the ball across the ground never forward, slow in mind, would want to improve 100% on that effort.

Most of both. There were a few times he seemed to have a different opponent, but those were probably times Dempster was off for a rest.Otiman wrote:The chunk in the first half where he was held goalless?
