I agree with cynicism about Morgan poll..and should have noted it in initial post.

I was initially stunned and didn’t think (enough) to.

But ya know, I was wondering, cynically too, that these polls and figures are used by various parties to flog various agendas and some could be inside the footy world itself.

Sydney marketeers for instance, would not hesitate to drop the poll figures in front of advertisers, sponsors, merchants, local politicians, etc.

Maybe they can use it to push fixturing issues at afl head quarters. I picture this.

Swans: Hey look pal, we want this fixture to be like this
AFL: yes sir we appreciate that but we need ti be realistic and fair
Swans: You don’t give a flying about be fair you lot. Give us the fixture . Look here at this Morgan poll! We are power! We are your power. It’s win/win you ….
AFL: alright, alright, don’t start talking tough pal. Listen if you wanna go that way, we can too. We both know that Morgan pop is BS.
Swans: So f n what if it’s BS. Our sponsors don’t know that! Toyota - what a feeling! - doesn’t know that either!

I feel for St.Kilda members living in Adelaide who couldn’t get a ticket. I like the idea of playing on an old suburban ground, but only if we’re playing someone like GCS. This match definitely should have been scheduled for Adelaide Oval. Hopefully we’ll get the W on the day.
