What a croc. Crouch was the only player that gave effort for the whole match was he. You're rewarding him for 8 touches in the second half are you?Ghost Like wrote: ↑Mon 03 Jul 2023 9:30am 5 Crouch (for 4 quarters of effort when others thought it was optional)

Butler gave effort for 4 quarters. Hill gave effort for 4 quarters. Wilkie and Howard and Webster gave effort for 4 quarters.
Max King gave effort...for 3 and a half quarters ( )

Re: Votes v WCE
Did Crouch not sign your flag one day scollop? You've hated him for weeks now. You even think (not be surprised) he will be dropped for the Melbourne game. That suggests all the others tried in the midfield played better, Steele, Ross, Gresham, Windhager.Scollop wrote: ↑Mon 03 Jul 2023 10:12amWhat a croc. You claim people only look at stats when giving votes, yet when you want to sh!t can someone's votes, you quote stats. That's quite funny.
Anyway, they were my votes, not yours. We agree to disagree. Crouch is not our worst midfielder this year, to suggest he will or should be dropped, damages your credibility.

Re: Votes v WCE
To GL,
If I voted straight after the match when my emotions are all over the shop I'd probably have gone to the statistics and maybe voted similar to everyone else.
I don't care if I offend people or go against the grain. I use statistics ONLY after I've watched the replay. I try and balance impact and visual perception with actual data to decide who I vote for.
Watch the replay of the game. Watch the second half. Better still...wait until the coaches association votes are cast. Ross Lyon mentioned quite a few players and gave credit where credit was due. He didn't mention Crouch - did he?
You said Crouch gave effort for 4 quarters when others thought it was optional. Name them? Who are your 'others'?

Re: Votes v WCE
Last post on this scollop because it's a voting thread, if you need me to tell you who thought effort was optional perhaps you need to watch the first half again and tell me the ones who gave 100% in the first half. Hint: Crouch, Owens and ???? I still find it amusing you think Crouch should be dropped but no mention of our other midfielders. Our midfield must be seriously A grade if we can be dropping Crouch.
Congratulations on your magic formula for selecting votes, I go on what I see during the game, we are different in that regard. Again, your faith is in statistics (funny) and what RTB says (Teflon will be happy).
Do we need better midfielders than Crouch? Yes, but that also means, at present, we need better mids than Steele, Ross, Gresham...all no brainers, yet you consistently pillor Crouch. We have not got 4 A grade mids at Sandy to replace our current B grade line up.

Re: Votes v WCE
Crouch gets votes on his 17 tackle effort alone
His first half was mighty
Probably fkd after HT

Re: Votes v WCE
Correct. Crouch had a real crack. He isn't there to carve holes through the defence.

Steele isn't B Grade for a start. We have not got 4 A grade mids at Sandy to replace our current B grade line up.
You post stuff like that and you question my credibility

Re: Votes v WCE
Let's recruit rugby league players if we just need tacklers...
Nah...just kidding. Crouch is a beauty. He wore them out and they gave in due to his pressure. Couldn't have won against WCE without him

Re: Votes v WCE
Sorry to keep the non-vote posts going, but just have to add, current Steele is definitely not A-grade

Re: Votes v WCE
He also got the ball 18 times - which means a good balance between offence and defence. He played well imo
Waned a bit in the second half. Possibly cooked!

Re: Votes v WCE
So you think his current form is A grade? Yes, your credibility is taking a hit on this one Scollop.
Forget that as a collective (line up), our midfield is pure B grade, of which Steele's current form is not helping lift it from the depths of mediocrity.

Re: Votes v WCE
Coaches votes interesting this week. 1 vote to Steele and not a single vote in this thread. No votes to Crouch.
I certainly didn't see it that way.
