Re: Side v Sydney
We are 2-15 vs Sydney at the SCG over the last 25 years. And those two wins were by 2pts and 1pt.
That said, I think next week is the best chance we've had to beat them up there in a long time.

They were flying last year - they were grand finalists
Imo
This year vs North and Hawthorn- two bottom 3 teams - were disgusting efforts

Under Pressure from this mugs view in the stand:
- Sharman, Caminiti, Paton, Ross, Howard
Options to come in :
Owens( if passes protocol) , Cordy, Windhager, Billings, Membrey,
Reality is I see something like this :
Out: Clark, Paton, Sharman (sub)
In: Owens ( Cordy if doesn't pass protocol) , Windhager.
Sub: Billings

We have beaten them at Stadium Australia in Sydney a couple of times too, when RL was coaching.

Wow
Getting abused by Teflon online - haha
Of course there were some poor performances last year
As there has been this year
It’s just that Last year it was on Ratten and this year it’s bloody Seb Ross!

Re: Side v Sydney
Now you’re being petulant
You know Ross is being targeted cause his form is poor
You know we had no system last year and barely any 4 qtr games
You know this but continue to argue cause you’re annoyed at me
Fair enough
But at least spare the rest of the board and talk sense not nonsense just for the sake of it cause that’s all you’re doing
You know this

Re: Side v Sydney
Your sense?!
Let’s see your logic
2022 - 11 games - coaches fault
2023 - 6-1 because of Ross the boss (Seb playing well)
Then we go 1-3 with a win over North - it’s the players - notably Seb Ross
I think we will finish about the same as 2022
Why?
Because that’s about how good we are
The only reason I engage with you (I also rate the list as average)
Is because you pontificated about the coach in 2022 and early 2023
I like Lyon as coach - but it doesn’t matter if he’s Norm Smith or Allen Jeans - he’s finishing 8-14 with this team
While you and a few other Lyon supporters had a mutual wank I was being a realist

Is 8-14 the best you can do. What about 7-15. Surely you'd like a little more disgusting than you got last time. YOU'RE A TROLL. Thanks for your contribution, you make the place more interesting.

Re: Side v Sydney
8-14 is about 10-12 wins
That’s what we’ll end up
We’re you one of the worshippers that was booking tickets at 6-1
Coach made all the difference then - then those same bloody players who got us to that position became hopeless
And it’s THEIR fault now
Go figure

With Parker out next week should be one of our winnable games.
Here’s hoping we can arrest the slide, otherwise going to be a long cold winter.

Coaches are making the difference now too. It the players who are struggling to get better and the better players are struggling the most.
I repeat, we've lost 2 last quarters in the last 7 matches. Adelaide and Hawthorn. Lots has changed since the last half of last year.

It’s far easier to talk in platitude and generalisations like
“Pick best player”
It’s oh so easy in Martins world

Buddy’s 350 they’ll be up and about
This will not be easy
I just want to see sone pressure
Sone midfield changes
Some good transitions into forwards
I’d take that

Re: Side v Sydney
Are you thinking it should be a good opportunity for an "exploritory loss". I learn so much from our style of exploration, it's so innovative, no one else is doing it like us.Teflon wrote: ↑Sat 03 Jun 2023 11:17pmClarke hurts uswhiskers3614 wrote: ↑Sat 03 Jun 2023 6:16pm With Parker out next week should be one of our winnable games.

I think the last 5 minute of the Hawks game is our new blueprint for exploration.

Rain is forecast for Sydney on Thursday night. Does this change things in terms of the team that is selected?

Re: Side v Sydney
If it is played in the rain, No Parker, Mills, McCartins will hurt them.
It's absolutely essential to get off to a good start against them.
Ins: Owens, Windhager, Highmore
Outs: Clark (inj), + two others
