Riewoldt was 96kg and Sharman is 83

Riewoldt was also taller than listed and Sharman is possibly shorter

I’ve stood next to them both - not the same height

Very average imo

Good kick, ok mark… rest of his game is ordinary

He’s not KP size - he’s not quick
You are a hard marker BM. Not every player comes in and is a super star after their first 15 games. He has been through 1 AFL preseason so really he is a first year player.

He is quick enough , but most of all he is an intelligent player. Give him time and he will develop into a very good player. He will become our 3rd tall forward when Membrey is done.

He'd need to improve quite a bit to reach your impression of him, he's got another 2 years to do it.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Looking far more happy and confident in the backline. Leave him there. He wouldn’t be the first player to start out as a forward and work out he’s far better with the field ahead of him

Not sure why we would need 4 talls in the backline

Howard, Wilkie, Battle

He is back up IMo

Pretty sure Rooey is 194cm & Sharman 192…regardless they are worlds apart as footballers!

Sharman has footy smarts but needs a better fitness base.
His aerobic capacity currently isn’t good enough for the elite level…same with a few others down there.

Yeah, quite strange the negativity around Sharman. Just 15 games in. Cut the guy some slack. Wow, some really harsh judges on here.

He needs to get stronger, but to me he's a pretty talented player who's got great scope for improvement

Sharman is a better than OK mark, and his field kicking is good, very good vision also
Big Preseason and fitness will improve
Get behind the young man.

How many players need to find their feet in the back line firstly, then are moved forward? Riewoldt & Koschitzke are two good examples. I am confident given the right development he will make a very good 3rd tall forward.

My view is that we lack KPP height among our back-line options, not that we have enough "talls".

Howard is our only "tall"

Wilkie and Battle are flanker/mid-field size at 191cm and 193cm respectively.

Hence Joyce being retained and, before that, Frawley being added as cover for 1 season.

Granted May (as with Frawley) does not have KPP height, but he is over 100kg and can protect space to mark or spoil.

Sharman has an ability to leap.

How Max King would love to play against St Kilda

He would not then be so exposed against numbers, weight and height as he is currently, being our only KPP size forward.

So being blocked and scragged in the contest.

Our ability to throw a very competent Ruck-man forward in support is compromised by the absence of Ryder.

How about playing Lienert as a KPP he has size 196cm is mobile and is a very good kick and is a smart player would take a lot pressure of King play him at CHF with king at FF Membery floating around the ground would open up a lot of options.
