Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
I’m assuming that because Georgia is of Greek heritage that just like most people in Greece and most Greek Australians that she is Christian Orhodox.
This is pure speculation, so not really a ‘blab’ or any inside word or anything but I heard that certain elements of the Greek community who are conservative church goers have somehow linked God and religion with Covid 19 and for some unknown reason they are against getting vaccinated.
What’s his face - the Serbian fella Novak Djokovic is also Christian Orthodox and he’s apparently also against getting the vax. It’s difficult to understand how the peasant mind works and why the church or certain elements of the priesthood are pushing this line, but when it comes to religion, I don’t think logic or science comes into it…much
She is a gun player and it would be a shame if she follows the dumb illogical rules or customs of the extreme elements of the Greek church. ….all just my humble opinion and maybe it’s miles away from the truth and her real reasons for taking time out

Next headline will be that Saints failed in their due diligence by selecting an anti-vaxx Greek Christian Orthodox ...... tantamount to choosing a diabetic with undetected concussion issues.
Sack the board!!

Lol. I'm not insinuating that the AFL is like Nazi Germany...I'm saying YOU are the good German citizen standing behind drawn curtains saying, " those Jews should've done what they're told, they brought this on themselves, stupid Jews"....
Is that clear enough?
People in Australia regardless of vax or no vax are free to choose their own way and judging & condemning them for not giving up their right to be whatever they wanted is what good German boys & girls did.
By the way I've had both my jabs. But I'll be damned if I sit and read a bunch of wankers on here saying that "mandatory" actions are the Australian way for ANYTHING.

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
The grudge is not against the people not wanting to be immunized for their own sake, it is about them walking around as incubators, as living test tubes for the virus to multiply and mutate, and hence ultimately pose a risk for the entire community, or in this case, the human race.SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Mon 25 Oct 2021 10:37pmLol. Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
We've been slowly conditioned to feel collectivism/unionism/socialism is bad, and as a result, the evils of the extreme right seem to have disappeared from general public discourse. The evil that the Nazi's and their kind did and would still do to ours and any other thinking society, should not be trivialised on this forum or any other!
As for # 21, she's a delight to watch, a natural footballer, and I for one hope we get to see her ASAP!

She can choose as much as she likes as long as she lives in a plastic bubble by herself for the next 12 months.

So telling people they need to get vaccinated to play footy or go to a pub is akin to sending millions to the gas chambers.SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Mon 25 Oct 2021 10:37pmLol. Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
Sometimes it’s not just about your rights, it’s about whether your actions or behaviours effect the community you’re in.
In this case, if Georgia won’t get vaccinated she cannot be part of the team, as it puts her team mates health at risk.
I didn’t just get vaxed for my on benefits but also for the safety of those who come into contact with me.

If everyone had the attitude that I don’t want to get vaccinated then we would never control COVID and would be at its mercy for ever.
We would have thousands infected a day and hundreds of deaths.
Sometimes the greater good of the whole community is greater than individual freedoms.

Yep. Some just don’t get it and feel that ‘their’ rights supersede everyone else’s. A classic example of how entitled, selfish and tbh dumb many are. I really hope that this isn’t the case with young Georgialongtimesaint wrote: ↑Tue 26 Oct 2021 2:39pm If everyone had the attitude that I don’t want to get vaccinated then we would never control COVID and would be at its mercy for ever.

Some people just want all the benefits and none of the responsibilities.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Same goes for others and their need to share their opinions, particularly when they speculate about something (which the media insinuated is a vaccination issue) that they know absolutely nothing about.Moods wrote: ↑Tue 26 Oct 2021 4:02pmYep. If she gives up her part time football job and/or decides to take time off, then that's her choice and a brave one to take. Then another kid comes along and gets an opportunity. This isn't a community service. She owes nothing to anyone but herself and her family.

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
I was in the post office the other day and everyone was wearing a mask except 1 50 year old tanned guy in smart surf clothes - and all I could think was 'here is a guy exercising his right to be a c#ckhead' whilst I certainly am not happy with the way we are having to live our lives at the moment I don't think personal freedoms should be just open slather - you need to think about other people its not always just about you .
If a similar c#ckhead wanted to exercise their freedoms by shooting people in the street they are not allowed to do that, there are laws against that kind of thing - and under the current covid situation the community needs laws to help keep control of rogue idi#ts
Unfortunately I do not belong to the camp that buys in to excuses based on religion - I would rather stick to facts that can be proved.
Good luck to Georgia - I hope she is happy - I like to watch her play for the Saints

The trouble with people on here they get all their info from the ABC or the Guardian or Google . The amount of adverse effects from the jab are mindblowingly huge ..try Duck duck go search engine instead of the heavily censored google . She is young and healthy and doesn't need a jab for covid which she would 100% near survive . If you are old and scared get the jab.

The trouble with zealots and extremists is that they get their info from facebook or Sky News or the church or nutcases like Trump masquerading as responsible politiciansRubyjo wrote: ↑Tue 26 Oct 2021 7:33pm The trouble with people on here they get all their info from the ABC or the Guardian or Google . Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
There's something fanatical about this post, fed by the media and related to anti-vaxxers, because a politician decided if she don't jab, she don't play and only Tony74 with any chance of knowing what her absence is or isn't about.
Who needs Facebook or Sky News?
