Re: Votes v Lions
Very tight contest in the first and not many goals scored. Brisbane had opportunities and our backline stood up. Wilks, Sincs and Jimmy were very good. Steele and the mids good contributors.
Maxy was probably our best for the second quarter imo and Paddy also very influential around the ground
The Dmac was dominant in the 3rd. He finished with 18 possessions in total and I think he had most of them in that 3rd quarter. 8 of his nine kicks were effective. He went at 88% DE for the match. He did it all with tackles, marks, i50’s, ground ball gets and lots of pressure acts
The last quarter was a pretty even contribution with the standouts being Tommy Highmore and Jack Steele
3 Steele
2 Dmac
2 Highmore
2 Ryder
2 Webster
1 Hill
1 Long
1 Dunny
1 Skunk

Re: Votes v Lions
A confession. To placate the missus we went down the local to have tea with the next door neighbours. It's the done thing after 25 years, apparently. So, I disqualify myself from giving votes.
I caught the score when we left, Brisbane 44 to 42. Got home and, multi skilling, threw a log on the fire as I turned on the telly. We were late in the third quarter.
From what I saw Jones was tearing it up, unbelievable after 8 weeks out. Steele was sitting on the bench, no possessions for the quarter after 15 to half time. We were a few points up. At the final siren he had 31 possies after we gad a 36 point lead. I'll leave it to you to join the dots as to who was our most outstanding player in a terrific team effort.

Just a heads up - I know that you were trying to emphasise that this was a team effort - but effectively - you have not voted at all as the above reflects no movement in the polling.perfectionist wrote: ↑Sun 11 Jul 2021 12:08am 1.Tom Highmore

Re: Votes v Lions
I see 17 players got votes but no one thought fit to give poor Sebby a vote, who incidentally plated a pretty fair game with over 20 possessions.

Re: Votes v Lions
Not true. That would only be the case if I gave all 22 players a vote (not counting our medical emergency who I think came on at the very end).Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Thu 15 Jul 2021 8:44amJust a heads up - I know that you were trying to emphasise that this was a team effort - but effectively - you have not voted at all as the above reflects no movement in the polling.perfectionist wrote: ↑Sun 11 Jul 2021 12:08am 1.Tom Highmore

The issue you point to exists whenever anyone varies from the 5,4,3,2,1 format, that is ,the diminution of relativity, which I have rarely, if ever, done - until last Saturday.

Re: Votes v Lions
Just change the rules then so you have vote 5,4,3,2,1 & if you don't then your votes are invalid . I actually prefer the existing system but if you want a level playing field we need to change

So the 5 or however many were the Top 5 or Top "however many"?saynta wrote: ↑Thu 15 Jul 2021 8:39pmNo I didn' because I thought there were better footballer on the day but not 17 of them.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Thu 15 Jul 2021 7:49pmDid you give him a vote saynta? Supporters have opinions, like you saynta, if Seb genuinely deserved a vote I'm sure he would have got one. If Seb has a supporter who believes he should get a vote every game then that is likely you but you chose not to. No need to point it out as if it's another crack at Ross.

Re: Votes v Lions
Not having a crack at Seb at all. All I was pointing out was how f****** ridiculous it was for 17 payers to get votes when there were none for seb who certainly was.in the top 7 or 8 players on.the day.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Thu 15 Jul 2021 9:31pmSo the 5 or however many were the Top 5 or Top "however many"?saynta wrote: ↑Thu 15 Jul 2021 8:39pmNo I didn' because I thought there were better footballer on the day but not 17 of them.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Thu 15 Jul 2021 7:49pmDid you give him a vote saynta? Re: Votes v Lions
Seb is the most underrated player in StK FC history
I mean seriously
People are actually annoyed he’s won B&Fs
Doesn’t suit their agendas

And ain't that the truth mate. Seb could get 40.possessions and kick 5 goals and still.not get a vote from.some "experts".

No, because he might have turned it over once
Forget the other 39 though
I could easily name the whipping boys
And a few of them are good players
Then there’s the guys who are overhyped
Carlisle for one - one reasonable season in 5 years

Re: Votes v Lions
Obviously my post must not have been so I re-read it. I suggest you do the same saynta. It did allude that you had a crack at Seb, in fact it suggested just because 24 people gave votes on their best player how does it translate that Seb has to get one.
You, B.M. and others are Seb's greatest supporters. Kudos to you all. I think Seb gets votes when he deserves them, obviously last round he could not make the Top 5 or 10 of supporters votes.
Personally I think that's great news that we can have a win like last week and a player of Seb's calibre cannot make our best when he plays a serviceable game.

Tried that - did not work - and I changed my method of Vote counts to suit - If people choose to dilute their votes by sharing them around - so be itbangaulegend wrote: ↑Thu 15 Jul 2021 9:20pm Just change the rules then so you have vote 5,4,3,2,1 & if you don't then your votes are invalid .
