Re: Hannas back for GWS next week
I'd argue this next match against GWS is even more important than the final the week later.
If we don't make finals now, after spending the entire season from round 2 in the top 6, the season has been a flop. Sorry, but that's simply the way it is.
Win this week and we get a week to reset, and the finals series will be a whole different ball game.
Lose, and many of our five year + players must be traded out or retired by the club, as they will have failed as professional sportsmen, and that is sadly how they will be judged.

Got the PA vs Ess game on and Daniher is showing why it's stupid to rush people lacking match fitness just back from long term injury into your team.
We're desperate though so we'll probably do it. I guarantee you his contribution will be no better than the others in this team everyone loves to have a pop at.

I agree!! We are rudderless. There’s no-one skippering the vessel!Goose is king wrote: ↑Sat 12 Sep 2020 2:18pmUnfortunately they don’t show the leadership Hannas can. We should have closed out Thursday nights game but WC leaders were the ones to step up not our. Hannas is straight in if deemed fit. He actually is exactly what the club needs.

Suddenly Hannebery is the messiah. I don't think so. He may be OK the following week but we need to go into Friday night with 22 match fit players.

Blew a golden opportunity against a wasteful Brisbane
Blew a golden opportunity against a vulnerable Melbourne
Scraped over the line against a vulnerable Hawthorn
Blew a golden opportunity against a vulnerable West Coast
I’m not overly confident against a vulnerable GWS
Can’t say we didn’t have our destiny well and truly in our own hands

Re: Hannas back for GWS next week
I'd play him. Inside work will release Jones, Steele, etc. Unlike Ross, you're not likely to hear 'an up and under kick'.
Free up Billings, and the like, and Hanners will make an incredible difference.

How about we hope he gets selected if ready and gets through the game with 20 possies and a win to book a finals berth.
Want to watch the most boring and devious thing on television and probably in mankind's history, then tune into a daily live press conference at 11am.

Re: Hannas back for GWS next week
That's a seriously pathetic comment. Do you even call yourself a supporter? This is a bloke that's gone down to Melbourne to rehab a serious hamstring, come back into the quarantine hub and is busting his gut to get back into the side and help us make finals. He also happens to be exactly what we need, a gun midfielder who pulls others along with his leadership. Wish we'd had him for the Eagles game because we probably would have won.whiskers3614 wrote: ↑Sun 13 Sep 2020 12:06am IF HE plays can we run a sweep on when he breaks down?

Gun midfielder? I think you’ve gotten too used to watching Seb Ross!
He’s good, not gun, that was 4 years ago.

Re: Hannas back for GWS next week
Doesn't matter how much he's getting paid, as supporters we should want the best for him not gagging about running a sweep as to when he'll get injured. It's just pathetic.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Sun 13 Sep 2020 8:14pm So he f---ing should !!! When hes getting paid the amount he's on IMO thats the least he could do
Re: Hannas back for GWS next week
I agree, even a half fit hanners should get i gig ahead of kent and hind and dunstan needs to come in as well .jones will be tagged by deboar and he will need a chop out otherwise we are definitely screwed.play king chf and marshall out of the square, billings to hff .hard tag on whitfield is a must he sets up alot of their plays. And finally carlisle has to play ,so coffield can set up our ball movement coming out of the backline as he is one of the few down there that can hit a target.lewdogs wrote: ↑Sun 13 Sep 2020 8:06pmThat's a seriously pathetic comment. What is pathetic is the fact we were that gullible to sign him on a big contract knowing what we did before the contract was actually signedlewdogs wrote: ↑Sun 13 Sep 2020 8:20pmDoesn't matter how much he's getting paid, as supporters we should want the best for him not gagging about running a sweep as to when he'll get injured. If he's fit he should play. No question.
Quality player.
If we play finals he's got a game under his belt.
No brainer.

Re: Hannas back for GWS next week
"Hannebery has played just 10 of a possible 40 games due to a string of soft-tissue setbacks since crossing from Sydney on a five-year deal at the end of 2018."
I have absolutely nothing against the man. He seems like a bloody good bloke who deserves better. But it is not a matter of bad luck. This was happening before he joined us. His legs are shot. The tendons are made of tissue paper. Why would we pick him for such a vital game? If we lose him early we are down by one man for the rest of the game which is a huge loss.
I say don't take the risk.

Re: Hannas back for GWS next week
10 games out of 40..
Maybe by the end of 2022 he might just eclipse the amount of games Tony Francis played for us
