It didn't help that Essendon started to chip it around which sucked the urgency out of the game - they also flooded our forwardline - there was one play where a Bomber took a mark in tbe centre of the ground and had to wait until his team mates came out of our F50 so he could move it forward
We also lairised when we had it - an extra handball here and there rather than a kick but essentially the game was done by then
I think getting the game back on our terms when the opposition are chipping it around and employing an overtly defensive gameplan is one area we have really struggled with this year - something to work on

Re: Dreadful 3rd Quarter
Unfortunately, all season we've played the premiership quarter like a wooden spoon team.
I wonder what goes on at half time? Why is there no spark? We start well...
Essendon were far worse than I was expecting.
Good to see the first half of the game controlled by Marshall, Battle, & Coffield. They dictated the terms of the whole game.
Battle should be played like Gehrig at the eagles, or Koutafides at tbe blues...he's a really good footballer and agreat grab of the ball. One day Max King will have the shoulder strength of Battle and will be basically unstoppable.

Re: Dreadful 3rd Quarter
Third quarters are an issue, player management or not.
2020
Q1 - 9-3, 161%, +100 pts
Q2 - 8-4, 113%, +28 pts
Q3 - 4-8, 72%, -58 pts
Q4 - 7-5, 130%, +46 pts
86 points worse off than our next worst quarter.

Re: Dreadful 3rd Quarter
Interesting to note that the accuracy really falls away after 1/2 time but especially in the third.
I guess we’re tiring.
