Can’t be any worse than our 3rd pick in this years draft - pick 100 or whatever it is.

Richmond showed what can happen when you take a risk with recruiting when they recruited Marlion Pickett.

Re: Bennell
That last goal was ridiculous.
I'd still avoid him though ... would be a disaster at our club or any other AFL club for that matter.

Re: Bennell
If we get an independent medical report from a third party that isn't associated with our club or any other AFL club and if he can be tested rigorously over several weeks (try before you buy) then perhaps take the gamble.
It's still very risky because he hasn't played regular footy at any level for 4 years.

Apparently he has a muscle that we don't need, that only 10% of people have, which keep pinging.

Avoid.

Nope, different club, different people around him, he is more mature, he knows that it is last chance saloon, etc etc etc.saintspremiers wrote: ↑Wed 30 Oct 2019 6:44pm Avoid.

Must push as hard as possible. Would be such a bonus if he comes good and no great harm if he doesn't. We have space on the list and in the salary cap. Classic "nothing to lose" for us.

Re: Bennell
Doubt the club would be going after him if Hill had anything negative to say. Definitely worth a shot IMO. His best is brilliant and we'd suddenly be a very good team if Bennell and Hill were firing. With Parker, Long, Gresh Ryder and Hill if we added Bennell would this be the biggest group of indigenous players we've ever had?

Re: Bennell
It's a yes from me......apparently more settled now that he has a partner and children and the medicos are confident they found the answer to the persistent calf injuries that have kept him out.

Re: Bennell
How many years ago now was that?
He's had 5 years of calf issues and they keep getting worse add the behavioural issues in there it's a slam dunk wasted pick,

Yeah pass.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Bennell
Just got rid of half a dozen list cloggers don't get one back in. Our picks this year will be most likely used to meet player turnover quotas. Is it three picks after 50. I expect nothing from these picks so can't be disappointed

Re: Bennell
So getting in players that can actually play is a massive bonus and Benell can play.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Thu 31 Oct 2019 8:36am Just got rid of half a dozen list cloggers don't get one back in. Re: Bennell
Not sure the date but Mav Weller dished off a couple of those handballs to Benell.
I think Richard Champion was at full back that day and John Gastev in the back pocket, they had just stayed at Cararra when the Bad News Bears left waiting for the next team to roll into town and just joined in.
