I've seen a lot of love for Wright on this forum. Some claim he's a good defensive forward. Buggered if I can see it.

Sinclair is virtually the ONLY Saint out there who looks to try and get the ball to a team mate in space.
He also had a number of good plays where he went t handball, realised that player was not a good option baulked his Adelaide opponent beautifully to gain space and then dispose well.
CONTRAST that to most St Kilda players who handball 5 m to a team mate with an opponent on them. Result = turnover!
Adelaide by contrast spread more so that they can get the ball to team mates in space.
whereas the Saints always just have crowded situations.

Otherwise: I don't know if anyone noticed, but we had a pretty good second quarter. Stevens, Steven, Ross, Gilbo, Roberton, Brown (to some extent) did well.

I've defended Wright up until today. He is getting some ball across half back and it shows him up.meher baba wrote:I've seen a lot of love for Wright on this forum. Some claim he's a good defensive forward. Buggered if I can see it.
You have to get the ball into the forward line for a defensive forward to do their job.

Acres has been shocking. But he's a good player: he might do more in the second half.

In his defense, we have to get the ball into the forward line for a defensive forward to do their job.

What about Steele? Is he even playing? You probably didnt mention him because you didnt realise he was even playing.BigMart wrote:Acres

At least Acres tries and gets involved.
Some other blokes just stand there watching like tourists at Niagra Falls.

Mav 3 2nd qtr tackles and is taking Sloane when he pushes back defensively to shake KS's tag.dragit wrote:Poor old Nathan Wright is looking WAAAAY out of his depth… Mav not much better.
He was ok that qtr.
Love Gears but unfortunately Eddie is in his head and he is visibly nervous when ball in play.
nathan Brown also looks unusually nervous.

Geez dont come on here being positive and measured. You need to abuse a player and ask that the coach gets sackedmeher baba wrote:Otherwise: I don't know if anyone noticed, but we had a pretty good second quarter. Stevens, Steven, Ross, Gilbo, Roberton, Brown (to some extent) did well.

Like many Saints he is not finding space. So every time he receives, he is tackled.meher baba wrote:Acres has been shocking. But he's a good player: he might do more in the second half.

Weller has put forward the most consistent season of all time, consistently deplorable! It is beyond belief how he has kept his spot in the side this year. There is no selection integrity at all

Paddy is basically the same as Kosi was at the end of his career. Not sure where the improvement is going to come from.
