I thought clavarino would have been a keeper as we seem short on key backs, they must have their eyes on someone,as if we lose Howard,Wilke,Highmore we are going to struggle

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
Did I read Allison has been training as a back? Clav had been in the system 4 years and had built a stronger AFL ready body and was recruited as a back.
Can we still rookie him if no one else throws him a lifeline?

Yes. We may even be able to put him on the rookie list as a DFA at a point in time?Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 11 Sep 2021 1:53pm Did I read Allison has been training as a back? Clav had been in the system 4 years and had built a stronger AFL ready body and was recruited as a back.

Although I believe he being delisted now means the club have other players in mind.

Clavarino was already on the Rookie list, now, he's on the ejected list.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

How about Lewis Young of the Bulldogs he is out of contract and has not got one on the table.
He is 201cm,100kg played 24 games including last week, and 22 years old he is a CHB and can play forward.
Bulldogs ruck him last week he got smashed.
Also Hayden Mclean for swans 197cm 22 plays ruck or KPP got injured against bulldogs.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
Leek Alleer 19y.o.
Best position: Key defence
Height, weight: 196cm, 84kg
Projected draft range: 15-45
Plays like: Aliir Aliir
August ranking: Outside-20
Rationale: Rapidly developing, Alleer has become an intercept marking force in the SANFL at League level. Although he is two years older than his peers,
his scope to develop is enormous based on his rapid rate of development. His round 16 match against South Adelaide was the eye-opener with five contested marks,
seeming to intercept every high ball that went near him.

Yes I herd about Leek he plays in SA for central and does well could be a prospect.
Also Mac Andrew plays for Dandy stingrays is 200 cm 18 year old great ball skills runs like the wind and is very quick for his height he plays CHB only problem he is 78kg but can work on that projected to go inside first 20 but who knows.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
BRISBANE ruckman Archie Smith is seeking a fresh start.
After 16 senior games in eight seasons, the unrestricted free agent let the Lions know post-season he would look to move clubs.
Taken by Brisbane in the 2014 NAB AFL Rookie Draft, the former basketballer got limited opportunities at the top level, playing behind Stefan Martin and then Oscar McInerney for large chunks of his career.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
Saints come up short with tall Swan
St Kilda is set to miss out on Sydney key forward Hayden McLean, who is now negotiating a new deal with the Swans.
While he is one of a number of Sydney players who rivals considered gettable he is expected to remain at Sydney.
The Saints are aware they need more reinforcements to help Rowan Marshall and Paddy Ryder not only in the ruck but up forward, with McLean having played a season at VFL affiliate Sandringham.
Note: On top of the latest reports that we had a red hot go at Chol, but now GCS are favourites to land him. Is it any wonder Ratten is saying we are going to the draft, as it seems we are AGAIN struggling to get targetted players over the line.

It looks that way, the Saints don't appear to be the destination club at the moment, for players or assistant coaches.
Things might change once we get the Grand Final over and done with.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
We really need a key CHB most of our talls are 191-195cm only Dougal as the only defender around 200cm and we really struggle against the teams with 2/3 talls.
This is a area we need to address this trade period.
How about Chol of Richmond or Colman jones I know other teams are interested but we need to get aggressive in trying to get players never hear much about who we are targeting.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
Greater Western Sydney forward Jeremy Finlayson has completed a medical at Port Adelaide as he weighs up his playing future.
As flagged by 7 News on Wednesday, foxfooty.com.au understands the 25-year-old, contracted to the Giants until the end of 2023, is considering a move to South Australia for family reasons,
with he and partner Kellie welcoming a baby girl into the world last month and Kellie’s family residing in Port Lincoln.
Amid the Giants’ time away from New South Wales in 2021, which lasted more than 70 days, Finlayson opted to stay in Queensland to be with Kellie during her pregnancy.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
I know the club is targeting players with speed but we also need some bigs.
We don't have a lot of draft capital I know we are looking to trade Lonie but would only get a late 3 or early 4 for him.
Do we trade someone else to get picks, I would say Battle but I think he might be bait in a deal for Bing next year.
What about Ross if he goes what pick do we get for him that could help.

Richmond’s Mabior Chol will play for Gold Coast next year.
Foxfooty.com.au understands the free agent has agreed to join the Suns and will notify the Tigers as early as this week.
Chol was weighing up a proposal from St Kilda but has ultimately decided he wants to join the Suns on a three-year deal with triggers for a fourth season.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
A couple of interesting players who we should ask questions regarding -
22 yo Nathan Kreuger 196cm key defender at Geelong
22 yo Sam Hayes 205cm ruckman at Port Adelaide (originally from Ferntree Gully)
Both struggled for opportunity at their respective clubs.
