The AFL doesn't need to go overseas to grow the game. It can do it right here at home with the help of state-sanctioned population growth.

Sydney and Perth on similar growth trajectories.

Easy money!

Yeah fair enough. The Dutch was a good answer.

The native peoples were treated very badly by the Brits and their Aussie descendants. It is a black mark on our history.

Still as a generalization I still agree with my original post.

My comment was purely restricted to the concept of me not existing had the Poms not come here and set up shop.

Clearly not everyone benefited from this, but I did. I'm alive because of it, and although it's a very selfish persepctive - I'm happy about that.

And that's my point really - I can celebrate that any day. Why does it have to be on the same day that thr Poms declared terra nullius?

Thanks, Scollop.

No one is too small to make a difference.

It reminds me of a quote.

“For every complex problem, there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.”

But if the goal is just to be right, keep talking..a bit like a couple of lazy moralisers on here.

You do realize that these hyped-up ”exhibition” matches are targeted towards a domestic TV audience?

The AFL has 3/5’s of f*** all chance of cracking the US market. It's not like it hasn't been tried before.

Anyway, would need a whole of marketing and media campaign across different channels. Games would just be one element. Even then, it would be a waste of time and money. The AFL might as well flush the money down the toilet or just give it to me.
I remember many moons ago when the then VFL played an exhibition match in NY City. Barrassi got his nose busted by a big thug of a NY copper.

Didn't work then, wouldn't work now.

I'd heard this was possibly going to happen, there is a big chance this will be a complementary promotion with the tech giants who are likely to win the next contract for the media rights, hence California.
