Re: trade rumours
Most clubs seem happy to negotiate a trade to where the player wants to go. Kobe Stevens chose Bulldogs and GWS allowed Caddy to go where he wanted. Young players aren't held to ransom as much these days.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Caddy & Hickey went to the highest bidders… Geelong & us… there were no favours from Gold Coast
Stevens had a reasonable chance to get to the dogs via the PSD so WCE had to deal, Jacobs was forced into the draft and port got nothing

Can't happen for the simple reason that when it comes to acquiring players, it is Pelchen who is calling the shots.

Brown was still under contract, the others weren't!Wayne42 wrote:Not sure the Weagles busted a gut to get Mitch Brown to the Saintsgringo wrote:Most clubs seem happy to negotiate a trade to where the player wants to go. That is the difference.
Bruce & Michie are both uncontracted, their current clubs want some return on their assets!

Re: trade rumours
Barlow, Mundy, Fyfe, Hill? Just like Riewoldt's in front of Spencer White, I guess. I would have thought his competition was Crichton, Sutcliffe, Crozier, Simpson, Mzungu, Suban, Neale, Clancee Pearce. They're not all exactly superstars, so how good is Michie if he can't get ahead of them?lloyd21 wrote:Does not want to stay in WA had unlucky run in injuries with dockers will not sign new contract Barlow Mundy Fyffe Hill in front of him at Freo

Didn't Ledger show enough in the final two games that suggests he could be a regular seniors player.
On what I saw he should be kept. And would he be behind Fyfe, Mundy, Barlow etc anyway? What would the dockers get from that deal?
Lance or James??

You can trade a contracted player, if you want to

Re: trade rumours
Yes true Wayne42, but West Coast didn't need to fold at any deal that came their way because Brown would still be on their list.
Bruce & Michie are uncontracted, so, as I said earlier, their current clubs want some sort of return on their assets.

Thunda likes Ledger doesn't he?
Joff - I reckon Ledger will be pretty frustrated at not getting a game, might be wanting to go home…

Re: trade rumours
possibly - but with the depth of the Dockers mids, he wont get any games very quickly in their seniors, especially with Ross at the helm and him going all out for a flag.dragit wrote:Joff - I reckon Ledger will be pretty frustrated at not getting a game, might be wanting to go home…
