Re: Saints v Tigers - Game thread
Kosi drops one that unexpectedly landed in his lap - ball ends up down the other end - with jack.r who ices the game with his eighth!
Wins the battle of the Roos as well. Clearly. One can kick, one can't.
And Roo just touches milney"s goal? Point.

Cometti reckons that it would have been a travesty of justice had the Tigers lost.
faint smell of bulls***
Roo robs Milney of a goal.
bad ending here.

Armo scores - but thanks to Roo we have no chance.

Tiges deserved that win. Lack of focus on our part and fatigue cost us

Re: Saints v Tigers - Game thread
Blake instant kick - point.
Great game - but we missed too may of our opportunities.
Siren goes. We threw this one away. Captain needs to step up when it counts.
Surprisingly, gram stood up in the last.
Not sure why we went for a shoot out - when focus was on tackling we were beating them.

How does Jack R. find himself all alone not once but twice with the game on the line? f****** s*** defence. WHY the f*** would you take Blake off him in the first place anyway.

Two backmen short. If Blakey had played on him more he wouldn't have kicked them. But we rolled the dice and put him in the ruck.jonesy wrote:All well and good being more attacking, but our backline has been insipid tonight.

Its been a while since we have seen a Saints side bleed so many easy goals. Very weak defensive effort.

A hell of a lot of that tonight. But if we tried it the umps would crucify us.Linton Street Saint wrote:Awesome, Can we get Scotty too teach the boy how to throw and shepard marks off the ball for next week. It's the way to go !

Agree but that's the personnel, not the set up.
Gwilt had a shocker, Gram had a rest for the first 3 quarters, Gilbert and Newnes looked nervy all night, and Simpkin met his match.
In the midfield Steven was invisible, Hayes had an off game, Joey inevitably faded.
Positives:
Saad had a great first half before fading, Blake contested well, Armo had another consistent game, Dal stood up. Roo did a few nice things, (and a few horrible things), Kosi started well.
Tigers won that, we didn't lose IMO. Good on Richmond, hope they go on with it. We were good, but as someone said poise in the first half, fatigue in the last quarter cost us.
It was a great game with a disappointing ending, but it wasn't a shocker.
Adelaide in Adelaide next, Watters needs to find a way to freshen the team up a little. Interesting selection ahead. Will some of the youngsters get a rest, or maybe an experienced senior? Shame there's no ressies game this weekend, would be good to see someone put their hand up for selection. Does Ledger come in and give Steven a rest? Does Raph come in for Gram or Gilbert? Do Milera or Joey make way for Schneider? Hope Armo's ok, he's been great this year.

Re: Saints v Tigers - Game thread
Hmmmm, our recruiters have a lot to answer for if you ask me. Blind Freddy could see we were short on rucks and short on defenders going into this season. A couple of key injuries (Sam and Ben) and all of a sudden we are like hey we need mid-season draft! We could never have predicted we would lose those two players to injury.
I am marching in the Saints army
