Should add the Lenny was limping quite pronouncedly.
Said he will get in the pool in a couple of weeks and then on the bike.
He is on-track.

but when he did his knee we were told he would be gone for the year, and watching his walking style could probably confirm that

Didn't you sell your tickets to your parents for a $1000 each?plugger66 wrote:What a great day. Happy to see Stings anf family.
Lance or James??

No I sold it for $200 a couple but they wrecked their car so they could afford to go. They gave me $100 but said I could keep the ticket. Seemed fair for me so I agreed.joffaboy wrote:Didn't you sell your tickets to your parents for a $1000 each?plugger66 wrote:What a great day. Happy to see Stings anf family.
they sound like they are lovely P66, you should be very grateful.plugger66 wrote:No I sold it for $200 a couple but they wrecked their car so they could afford to go. I saw him after the game (he didn't see me) and he was wearing a friggen NAME BADGE! (Not sure this was something that everyone who attended the function did... I highly doubt it though).Stillwaiting wrote:Was any contact made with the much talked about former mod on ss
Wasn't wearing the orange hat though, don't think it went with the bad suit.

Yes, everyone had a name tag
I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, made of coure better by watching a win
All jokes aside, was genuinely looking forward to meeting Stinger, however I can only assume he chose not to attend, as there were two empty seats at our table (and next to me in the ground). SS had a great table right next to the stage
Lovely to meet some new Forum folk (as well as the Admin of the True Sainters site) and catch up with some familair faces too. Yes the Saints Footy admins were there..at the next table to us
Was a pleasure to be able to listen to a guest speaker without him being drowned out by chatter, as is the case in the SC. Lenny spoke very well
Congrats to the Club on a very well organised event, well done to Francis Leach our excellent MC and thanks again to the poster who offerred me his tix
Had a very briewf chat to Gardy at 1/2 time. He seriously is close to the tallest human being Ive ever seen ...oh and hes "a couple of weeks away"

It's really interesting.
For yesterday's game I was given a couple of tickets to the 'Platinum Day' which took place in the Robert Harvey Room.
The host was Francis Leach - so he was obviously 'shuttling' back and forward between the 2 events. (having jst read saint66au's account of teh PLaer Sponsors' event, I now understand that he made a mistake by refering to 'player sponsors' at this event)
The provided meal was a hot carvery lunch, and some scones at half time.
Drinks were not included (except water) but were available from a couple of bars (Corona $8.20 each)
Entertainment was a couple of guys playing guitar and singing
PLUS
the presentation of a momento to Brett Bowey - apparently the Club is honouring its living past players.
We were provided with seating in the back 3 rows between Sections 35 and 38 (IMHO not as good as my own reserved seats).
The room was reasonably full with hundreds of people who were either Sponsors of the Club or members of the '300 Club' or 'paid tickets'.
They ran a raffle before the game with 2 gorgeous young blondes having no problem selling tickets.
There was nothing provided after the game.
No players were in attendance and it seemed to be a lacklustre event.
My impression was that the event certainly wasn't worth the advertised ticket price of $150 per person.

He probally wore that badge all the way home, thinking he is important to the club.saintdooley wrote:yes, you got a name badge at the function, and yes most people wore them....HSVKing wrote:I saw him after the game (he didn't see me) and he was wearing a friggen NAME BADGE! Sure most normal people removed it as soon as they left the function...

Well I must be pretty easily pleased too because I enjoyed the day very much.
Nice to catch up with a few familiar faces and some new ones too.
Was easily the highlight of my football year so far [not too many highlights this year]
Enjoyed Francis Leach interviewing Jarryn and Tommy but the highlight was Lenny of course.
Our table was beautifully positioned right in front of the 'stage'and even though Snoopygirl will claim she made eye contact with Lenny - I was definitely closer!
The afternoon finished on a very sweet note with the long awaited 4 points!
Thanks again to Mr. Magic for all his work.
