Isn't our criteria that they are a nice kid?samoht wrote:What we need if we’re going to emulate Hawthorn and Geelong is recruiting standards.
If players don’t tick the boxes, you don’t recruit them.
We need quality control in recruiting - set some criteria/standards, that we religiously adhere to.
When you hear us say : “ I can’t believe this player slid to us” know that other teams have overlooked this player for good reasons - as they didn’t meet their quality control standards.

... as long as they’re nice kids due to their false modesty - and a bit of a swagger is okay.

We have many issues at the moment, although last night was better than the previous 2 matches. However, there is absolutely no indication that Richo has lost the players, nowhere near it.

To lose one player is unfortunate; to lose 22 is just careless!

With zero inside knowledge of the current structure but experience in sporting environment it certainly appears from performance and body language the coach has lost the support or if not support the confidence of the playing group.

This is season 2000 revisited. Richardson's coaching and general demeanour is positively " Watson-esque" I can think of no more damning condemnation

It's pretty dire. What's even more troubling is there was actually a decent spread of talent on the list in 2000, which made it easier for GT to manage when he took over. It's going to be a very tough job for the list management personnel to put us back on par anytime soon.

That is either comical or cognitive dissonance. I cant tell if you are taking the piss or not?
We have won 3 games of the last 17 (including JLT) with an average losing margin of 40.
I have been to a few live games in that time and the body language is horrendous.
There is ABSOLUTELY every indication the coach has lost the players and this has been evident since Rd 17 2017 v Essendon.
I have also seen you write 'dont be surprised if we smash X team this week....' since July last year.
Everybody will be extremely surprised if we 'smash' anyone because we are terrible. Absolutely terrible.
We might win a few games this season because sooner or later we will run in to a side having an off day. That is our best hope for a win.

Re: Richo has lost the players
Everybody got stuck in to Buckley for a while during the Pies rebuild but he never finished a season with a % below 90. They were always competitive.
He has also never dipped below a 50% win record.
Richo is stuck on 35% win record and we have been down under 70% for most of his coaching career.
Not only is he losing lots of games - the loss margins have been horrendous for the majority of the last 5 years.
We arent even slightly competitive.

Third quarter last night alone shows that he hasn't lost the players.

Time for someone at the club to grow a pair of “ Henry Halls” and start the ball rolling for a complete and comprehensive EXTERNAL review of the entire operation! Re: Richo has lost the players
I am gobsmacked how gullible some people are when it comes to Richo.
I guess it is because he is on TV on 360 or he does a lot of media?
Not sure what it is but the reality is he is a a much worse performed coach than Scott Watters yet some people seem to be completely blind to reality. A strange phenomenon.

I’m the first one to hold my hand up as one who has consistently preached for the need for STABILITY at the club. I STILL believe in the need for stability, but THIS? The overwhelming impression that I’m getting from the club is INERTIA! Something HAS to be done, and done QUICKLY!
