Bailey Rice will not be called in the top 10 or in the first round.
When Rice's name is called we will use our next pick and any subsequent picks to make up the necessary points to match the calling club less a discount of 197 points (Not being called in the first round).
The catch is we need the necessary points still remaining.
It is a waste of draft position to be the first to call your own father-son or academy player.
In that regard it might better to improve our 4th round pick a tad at the expense of our second round pick.
There is a possibility that Bailey Rice may be called around pick 30 and our 3rd and 4th rounders not have enough points despite the discount.

Getting pick 10 out of Port and their 2016 first rounder may be hard.
They would probably only want to give up pick 10 and 2016 first rounder if they get picks 5, 24 & 64.

I think if we are going to trade for Carlisle the sooner we sell pick 5 the better.
Only then will Essendon start to deal.
If we are going to try to get Carlisle through the main draft or the PSD then we stop talking to Essendon and use pick 5 ourselves in the main draft.

But the quality in this draft around pick 44 is claimed to be so poor most posters on saintsational could get drafted.
The Essendon offer is not much different from them demanding pick 5.

I don't get this Weller stuff at all. Why is he leaving already. Its only saints boards that think it is happening. I have heard he will finish his contract.
