Ffs, that's gonna hurt his development. Wishing Goddard the best for a speedy recovery

ACL for Goddard unfortunately it seems. As good as a mark McCartin is his kicking for goal at the moment is awful. Not much good taking big marks then not converting
Re: Match day thread - Saints v Crows
Starting midfield second half to include
Weller, Gears, Membrey
Make a point....
Don't care about positions anymore, let someone actually have a crack at winning a clearance.

Re: Match day thread - Saints v Crows
Not that it matters but they just said on the radio that the Crows had a breeze in the first quarter and it died in the 2nd when we had it
Disappointing that Paddy couldnt post a score there from 50 out

All inside mids yet we can't win a clearance. Carlton's midfield on paper is worse but they're a better team. Better coached.Con Gorozidis wrote:Same old story. Dunstan, Ross and Armo are just too similar.PremiershipSaint wrote:We have the worst midfield in the comp, some of the blame has to go on Richo's coaching.kalsaint wrote:No, clearly not his mistake alone even though he seems to like the smaller draft picks.PremiershipSaint wrote:SACK RICHO
Unfortunately we are not much better than VFL when we get beaten in the basics of contested possession and even when we win th clearances we turn it over and kicking well, its a habit now that cant be turned around when under pressure with little ball player protection.

Re: Match day thread - Saints v Crows
Well based on their participation this year they will all be delisted and replaced by more 170-180cm players! Lees form has been suggested as good so why isn't he playing?Con Gorozidis wrote:We have Lee + Coughlan + Delaney.kalsaint wrote:Sounds like a knee for Goddard now. We have no talls left. Draft selections?
I still think our midfield is the bigger issue but our talls down back should not be ignored. Chips is likely to play only 1 equivalent full season over 2014-2016. Needs more support with some experience. Carlisle may not be the full answer but it makes the second third and fourth tall backment look taller.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Once again... the current list sadly reminds me of Richmond from 10 years ago... Except it's Riewoldt enjoying his twilight instead of Matty Richo.

When you change direction like that and the knee gives way it can only be one thing. Hope i'm wrong but looks very likelyCon Gorozidis wrote:Quick diagnosis?Tom_Sainter wrote:ACL for Goddard unfortunately it seems. Sorry but at this stage Goddard isn't up to it. Lee would have been much better today.kalsaint wrote:Sounds like a knee for Goddard now. We have no talls left. Draft selections?
Why wanst Lee selected and played? Bigger body. Webster probably needed another week to be fair.

Startling comparison. I see this too. Richmond had the same midfield issues and inconsistency.prwilkinson wrote:Once again... the current list sadly reminds me of Richmond from 10 years ago... Except it's Riewoldt enjoying his twilight instead of Matty Richo.
