What is weird about the trainer?
I think every club has a weird old trainer that loves to stretch out young men's groins just a little too much...

We've all had deep heat rubbed into our nuts at some stage surely?

Con Gorozidis wrote:Not sure on that - p66 was doing his usual trick of talking himself up by claiming 'inside knowledge' on players.
Big Mart was saying there is a difference between 'playing sore/with niggles' - which happens all the time to 'wrongly' playing with an injury i.e where the affect of the injury is to the extent where you are no longer able to perform as a best 22 player because of the injury and/or the chance of re-injuring is high.
So I disagree that BM doesn't have good comprehension skills.

Plugger saying 'not 100%'
Is different
to BM saying "well under 100% - and should not play"

BMs argument is that sure - players always play under 100% - maybe they play 90% or 85% regularly BUT they can 'wrongly' play and become a liability e.g. play at say 70%.

This is completely legitimate as an argument and in the comprehension stakes.

Pluggers problem is he is a 'hanger-on' at the footy club but considers himself an 'insider'.
Insiders talk like those 'external' (e.g. fans/formunites like us) are all clueless and have no idea and only the 'insiders' really know whats going on. This is a false arrogant attitude. Arrogant because of the insider/outsider divide that exists in all professions and 'false' arrogant because plugger is not even an actual insider - merely a hanger on who picks up these attitudes from insiders and tries to replicate them on here. This explains why he is the self designated 'club spokesman' on here who thinks he is keeping all us clueless plebs straight with factual information of a club insider. This also leads him to believe that the insiders are always correct and have the best information and make the best decisions - even despite there often being clear and unequivocal evidence to the contrary.

That's not how I see it. My view is you have a chip on your shoulder w/ P66 because he has a number of times called out some of the crap you write. And fair enough too.

This hanging on story is just a fabrication.

Not sure you've played a game or been injured? But you have NFI

Loads of players were strapping? Are you suggesting in most cases it's not required?? What rot!

Lenny, your best mate... Haha .... admitted he used it until he felt better!!

What do you think that means Einstein .... You feel unstable and won't go 100% and you don't trust your joint. You haven't got full knowledge of strength so you strap it to give it support, strength and stability.

Seriously, you're making an arse of yourself again
Now you know more than doctors, physios, the players themselves and obviously Elastoplast has got everyone fooled with the placebo effect.

Players come off and get attended to by medical staff... Do those fools who tape up a joint, have no clue.

Armo obviously isn't travelling 100%.... Because IN HIS OWN HEAD HE FEELS THE NEED FOR A FULL KNEE TAPE!!! Or even more likely, he spoke to the trainers, had a scan, it's minor and they advised the strapping.....

Riewoldt was in the media a few years ago removing all his strapping upon scrutiny that it was a bad look. Didn't need any of it around the shoulders. He said it was confidence and psychological.

It happens all the time but you not being able to comprehend simple pieces of information result in the absolute dribble above.

You bring this forum down with this pathetic rubbish coupled with the inability to understand what others write.

You're effectively an idiot or just a liar as you either can't understand basic discussion or choose to on purpose.

Spinner

You've got little or no idea about footy do you?

What exactly Did I lie about.... That footy players wear strapping when dealing with recovery from injury or for support? Is that a lie?! Explain how that is a lie???

If you honestly believe because Nick took strapping off his shoulders, it is unnecessary ...... You've never ever played a game of footy, and definitely never played injured?!

You're a typical arm chair expert .... And most likely weak as piss. Be interested if you'd be willing to insult someone as such to their face? Hopefully I run into you one day and you can give it a crack?

You're continual attack on me are pathetic, desperate and hilarious.... Predicable also...

Maybe the 3 of us can meet at the footy and discuss all this so it isnt on here all the time. You can have a softy, I will have a beer and not sure what Spinner drinks but he can maybe have a beer as well. Sort all this out and come back on here and try and act our age. If you arent sure who I am just look for a guy with strapping on his knee.

See you still don't understand. It's that 'some' do strap when they don't have to. As reported by Riewoldt some years ago.

But you still don't understand and interpret as 'all' players.

I'll back myself on football - seems you want me to prove something because I called out the above rubbish. And I'm attacking your reasoning and ability to understand - and if it were to occur in person, this inability to understand and then lie/distort what other people are saying - I would certainly say it to your face because I'm sure in real life it would be a thousand times more annoying. Those ppl around you that sustain it in the real world deserve a medal or an award or something.

Not sure how you can say my weak as piss? Did I not have a photo on draft day... Obviously I didn't. And I don't watch from my arm chair at home - I attend.

It did become a farce.... Completely agree

It only took someone to suggest the art of strapping was a complete waste of time (first reply) in order to prove me wrong.

Would not allow me a pretty reasonable opinion??

Really, He clutched at straws a bit, and he knows it... Then softened his viewpoint to generality....

The in came the rest of the vultures... The usual pack.

It's predictable, the same ones that complain, add fuel to the fire... Get personal and insulting and then bitch and moan about the ruination of a thread...

P66 and I posted about 20-30% on this 6 page thread.... The rest was everyone else wanting to get involved?!
It's like people in meetings who really only speak to be heard, without even mentioning the argument... Or making a point??

If everyone just posted on the debate... Which turned into two main points

My point.... David was under duress

P66.... Strapping didn't indicate any problem

But no?
It was a chance to bag others... An easy thing to do behind closed doors... For example, every chance Spinner gets, he will attempt to sink the boots in...

I suggest when these sorts of threads occur, people read the start of the thread and see who the instigator is?....

This was the first response you are indicting "Some do it just for confidence.". You need to re read the thread to understand you are debating rubbish points that you fabricated.

You write so much rubbish I have to call it out.

And your agreement is void anyways because Armitage endured a different injury this week.

Starting to think you're just a liar now - no one can be this stupid...

BM going over old ground again and boring everyone but when you delibrately lie it needs to be pointed out. You initially said Armo is clearly injured and then changed it in your next post to not 100% fit. My first post was my opinion on strapping and wasnt directed at you as i didnt quote you. I usually quote when commenting on a post of yours. Havent in this case because I think this will be directly under your post. Can now see it isnt under your post but you get my drift. The first comment of mine was well after your post so if it was having a go at you I would have quoted. You do understand this basic stuff?

I wouldnt allow you to have an opinion? Where do you get this stuff from? I chose to say I think your opinion could be off the mark and used two examples. One of them, Rooy, was even highlighted in the media a few years ago. And I wasnt clutching at straws and never changed my veiw point. I think my first post to you preoves that. I said some players and you read it as all players.

Strapping is used in 3 ways on a player. When they have an injury to help support the injury, Confidence and to stop structual damage. For example the tapping of every single players ankles. Rooy and Lenny were a confidence thing. Not sure what Armo's original strapping was for but the second lot he got last week was to help with the injury he received on Sunday. Those are my 3 examples.

So lets sort this out. I will have a beer, BM a softy and Spinner will have a vodka lime and soda. Lets get this happening for the sake of the forum. Does tonight work for all of us. You are obviously going Spinner, I will go. BM we just need the ok from you and we can work through all this in our own time without boring everyone else to death. Looking forward to your response BM.

Indeed, I'm not a sports medicine specialist but, when a player can see their Ligaments or knee cap through a cut I wouldn't suggest he continues to play.
Hope he recovers well.
