If we dont get more people buying shares then I suspect we are only sponsoring one player this year. We sponsored 5 3 years ago.

I am interested in getting involved. Is there an Information Memorandum or some sort of formal document that outlines all key points regarding sponsorship (ie how share structure works, subscription price per share, player selection, who payment is made to, who payment is passed on to by recipient, end use of funds, etc.)?

$20.00 for a share, the payment info is in this thread...it's paid to Mr Magic who organises it with the club on all of our behalf.

Usually we voted in the past.

Not sure what's happening to be honest

OK I'm back,
Thanks to all who took up the slack whilst I've been busy elsewhere.

I can confirm that we have 2 player sponsorships for season 2013 (at this stage)
Daniel Markworth
Jackson Ferguson

as was the majority view in the other thread some time ago.

Over the next couple of days I'll go through the all pm's and produce an up to date list of who's a member of the group, who's paid and how many more shares we need to sell.

Shares are as per previous year
Cost $20 per share
Each share is for the sp[onsorship group (not for either of the 2 players specifically)
All benefits (prizes) will be 'raffled' off as per previous seasons.

Maybe MoorabbinSaint (if he's still around?) can organize a new banner for the site?

Congrats to those going to the Hall of Fame next week

there are still some spaces available for anyone who wishes to be involved in time for the next event.

Mr Magic is consolidating the list and payment to date.

Some of you regulars must have a few spare dollars or do you think it is fair MM pays about $1200 for a player and still lets us win the prizes. Seriously that is unfair. Come on some out there have doctors in the family or other reasonably high paying jobs. Surely you can spend at least $20.

Seriously this is a bad situation. Put me down for another 5 shares. Mr Magic shouldn't be paying out of his own pocket. We should be supporting the Club and players.

I have huge sympathy with MM, and if he is out of pocket I would have no hesitation to kick in. If you are reading this MM please PM me.

But I will not have my name on the sponsor's list as long as the club continues to treat it's player sponsors as cash cows, with no pretence of providing some sort of value for that cash.

My family individually sponsored players up to 2012, until the lack of organisation and appreciation from the club finally pissed me off.

So don't blame SS's current malaise for the sponsor situation; it runs deeper than that.

I never get what you want out of sponsorship. The way i look at it is that they are supplying over a $1000 worth of value for a $1500 dollar sponsorship. Sounds like great value to me. The idea of sponsorship in every club I have been involved in is a donation with a bit of value to the person donating. Our clubs gives very good value. Also the sponsoe meets the person they are sponsoring and for some that is money cant buy experience.

I never got anywhere near the 66% value you claim to get for your sponsor ship dollar. Closer to 20% in my estimation. I think you are confusing the retail price of the functions with the actual cost of providing them.

It might be just me, but I don't get excited about meeting footballers. They are just people with different talents, thats all.

I am basing it on retail price because that is what you would pay if you wanted to go. Out local club gives sponsors beer tickets. people dont say they only worth $1.80 because i could buy a slab in the pub for that cost. They are worth $4 because that is what it costs everyone else at the club. As for footballers i dont get it either but many do and that has to be included in the price just like giving beer tickets if you dont drink.
