One thing I hate about Aussie Rules

Does any else find that these days it seems to be that whoever gets a run with free kicks and makes the most of them, pretty much wins the game.

Seriously. These days when the whistle blows, 9/10 I don't actually know what it is for and 2 who w/o the commentary or a reply and most of the time it's this little insignificant thing that hasn't influenced play at all.

I don't like watching games to see the play being heavily influenced by the umps

Yeah its a big call to pluck a free in the middle and give one team possession of the ball. It really does influence the game and gives a team a big advantage. You see it so much these days especially when one team has a run on. umpires have way too much influence on the game imo

I think Gwilt has done a great job. Much more solid than last year. And once again Blake has made some crucial disposals and spoiled some marks.

Gram wicked!!!.

Had to mute earlier than usual today. Darcy is always going to barrack against the teams he sees as a threat to his doggies. Really it is unprofessional. Why cant they just call the game, there always seems to be a bias no matter who is playing.
Some people might think it's all in our imagination but it's not - this is BAD!!!

First quarter a kick to the wing, 2 saints v 1 swan - "well done Jess Smith"
Later another kick to the wing - 1 saints v 2 swans - "well done Bradshaw"

Free to Moore against Baker - no probs. Similar situation with Grundy on Reiwoldt and it's controversial!

And on and on and on it goes

not just our game, i hate the way they sink the boots in to teams not doing well. Like richmond the other night, how would you feel barracking for richmond and having the commentators bag your team. They have forgotten they are there to call what the hell is happening..... wankers really

Those on here suggesting that Ray might struggle to hold his place in 2010 are way off beam. Having a great game.

I feel that if we can just get it beyond three goals, we may be able to play with a little bit more freedom and kill the game off.

Swans are just hanging in there.
