The decision of the AFL in relation to Waverley Park was motivated purely by money. It abandoned the people of SE Melbourne for a piece of the inner city real estate action by being guaranteed title to Docklands in 30 years.Otiman wrote:Sounds like the catch cry for Waverley Park all those years ago. Casey Fields is somewhat different - it will be the home of a number of local and regional sporting clubs (in fact it already is). Other possibilities keep coming over the horizon.
It will become the Albert Park of the South East (but probably without an international event like the GP ).
