Your on the money. Great pick up. Rated by many Blues fans. The Oracale wrote: ↑Mon 18 Nov 2024 8:23pm I think Carroll will be an astute pick up for us.
He was clearly teetering on the edge of their 22 (10 games as sub in 2024), and he and his management probably saw the writing on the wall when they scored Pick 3 from WCE for a top end midfielder from the draft that he would also need to compete with.

Re: Jack Carroll
Dow #3 - traded for a bag of chips after 70 games.
Stocker #19 (and more) delisted after 28 games.
Both busts for Carlton? ABSOLUTELY!
If you think they are Carlton success stories, let's agree to disagree.
Stocker already adding value for St Kilda as a DFA and hopefully Dow will get a run at it from 2025 and beyond.
Both will hopefully be 100 games players for St Kilda.
BTW, you haven't answered the question on why you have made the comment on supporters wanting SOS to fail in his recruiting for St Kilda?
That is a really weird and bizarre thing to write. Why would you want a St Kilda official to fail?

If you analyse all 9f his picks at Carlton, you can't ignore the fact, that he was pivotal in getting the team that is currently rising, to where they are.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 19 Nov 2024 2:04pmDow #3 - traded for a bag of chips after 70 games.

If the talent provided was in better hands earlier and there was a bit of luck with injuries, then maybe few more may have survived.
When you have big club status and the ability to pull free agents out of other clubs, some of your development has to suffer. But, SOS put together a core that would look quite attractive to an eager free agent.
Coaches coach, scouts look for recruits, list managers improve lists and balance the TPP.
This current list of ours needs a lot coaching, then we need a couple of free agents. Something that has always alluded us.
SOS has done ok so far.

I bet my bottom dollar whoever we select tomorrow will become your #1 whipping boys. Your in to deep now, I'm sure you will be quietly wishing SOS fails so you avoid looking like even more of a clown than you do right now. By the way still waiting on you to name one good list boss from another club?D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 19 Nov 2024 2:04pmDow #3 - traded for a bag of chips after 70 games.

Re: Jack Carroll
Very funny quote, even funnier that SOS was not at GWS when Setterfield was selected.
You guess correctly, SOS is nowhere near Stephen Wells & Blair Hartley before his promotion.Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Wed 13 Nov 2024 1:05pm I guess SOS hasn’t selected more combined All Australians winners than 16 other present team head recruiters
OK, Carlton’s last three Brownlow medallists Cripps 2023, Judd 2010, Williams 1994.Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Wed 13 Nov 2024 1:05pm Recruited more Brownlow medalists than any other list recruiter in the past 24 years
How many of these did SOS recruit? O zero!
Oh, you are counting Cripps who was recruited while SOS was at GWS
LOL, ‘0’ zero = more Brownlow medallists (and yes it’s spelt with a double ll)
Um, wrong again!Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Wed 13 Nov 2024 1:05pm Also I suppose his strike rate of identifying 50% guns in the first round against a comp average of 20-30% is also terrible.
Fabricated stats of 50% guns for SOS and 20-30% competition average.
Lol, you continue to fabricate stories to suit your sycophantic obsession
Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Wed 13 Nov 2024 1:05pm Can’t even support your ridiculous view by providing me one present recruiter with a better career record than him. Tbh I doubt you even know a single recruiter from another club.
I think Stephen Wells has him well covered, if GWS had Stephen Wells instead of Stephen Silvagni they’d have 4 or 5 flags by now.
Academy player (not a SOS selection) who GWS didn’t rate highly enough to retain.Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Wed 13 Nov 2024 1:05pm Jack Steele goes alright as well, an uncovered gem and GWS “reject” of SOS’.

Strange comment and incorrect, I don’t bag players or question their courage and commitment unlike you!Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Tue 19 Nov 2024 4:12pm I bet my bottom dollar whoever we select tomorrow will become your #1 whipping boys.
Saints life member and 150 game player says hi!
This comment says a lot about your negative mindset.
Finally, you get something right!

Now that is a really weird thing to write and again gives an insight into your troubled psyche.
Stephen Wells and Blair Hartley not good enough for you? (but didn't you want recruiters or are you a little confused?)Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Tue 19 Nov 2024 4:12pm By the way still waiting on you to name one good list boss from another club?
You still haven't mentioned your assessment of SOS's genius in recruiting 12 (YES THAT IS 12 TWELVE) GWS rejects to Carlton
You have fabricated a number of stories to support you argument and these are proven false.
Due to your frustration, you have resorted to childish taunts like, peanut, clown etc.
May I suggest in future communication you stick to facts:
# Don’t fabricate stories about SOS gun recruitment ratio
# Don’t fabricate stories about recruiting Brownlow medallists
# Don’t fabricate stories about recruiting gun players like Taranto, Cripps
# Don’t fabricate stories about the % of successful first round draft picks
# Don’t resort to childish name calling when your lies are exposed on the forum
# Don’t take your weird (and frankly troubling) psyche and accuse others of wishing failure at the club, club officials and players. My dear old mum (RIP) used to say “people accuse others of the things they’d do themselves”. My dear departed mum may have had you in mind Brunswicksainter.
