I can't believe how bad our record is at the tribunal. For years I've been saying our lawyer is the guy out of The Castle.... I know he finally got a new photocopier but he's still useless !!!!! The vibe just doesn't work any more.
Didn’t we get Butler and Caminiti suspensions overturned within the last year or so?
I’m fine with this decision tbh as long as they’re consistent.
From tonight’s verdict:
“Guidelines provide any high bump which constitutes rough conduct that has the potential to cause injury will usually be graded at a minimum ‘medium’ impact, even though the extent of the actual physical impact may be low.”
If they’re going to contest that any head high contact with potential to cause injury (regardless of outcome) and is avoidable through player action is a suspendable offense then that’s fine in my books, but it has to be applied to everyone evenly, including cases where it would rule out star players from finals and Brownlow.
But it won’t be….theres the issues
Tom Lynch whacks people doesn’t get cited
I could argue the Pies twit on Higgins in goal square was high with potential for injury
It’s Mickey mouse stuff

Our beak is Adrian Anderson.
Former AFL guy.
I thought we had Jack Rush KC
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn
We used to have QC Hamill who won in the High Court, our guy made sure he had fresh water. Problem is Hamill went back to Carlton so they'll be fine come September ... on a serious note our tribunal record compared to big clubs is horrendous and there's nothing we can do about it but win the GF and shove it right up 'em !!

So the only part of the body where "potential to cause injury" is a factor is the head?
And even glancing blow which causes no injury is deemed worthy of a week?
The MRO has seriously lost the plot
Looking forward to every careless hit to the head now to get a week
Lynch carelessly hit Butters in the head very late trying to spoil ..... where is his week? Or is it only bumps that have the "potential to cause injury"
I find our Club appealing.
I find the AFL penalty process capricious.
If all similar actions resulted in week suspensions there would have been no appeal, but plenty are waved through or treated as fine-able or downgraded at whim. I think it's good we simply did not accept the corruption and made AFL justify why laws are not applied equally or fairly. Which it can't, but at least we called it out.
