Weller - Either a top 8 pick or a straight player swap of P Mccarten - this is not going to happen.

Fyfe - 2 x top 12 picks plus a player such as Blake Acres - also not going to happen.

So collectively we could get Fyfe and Weller but cost would be Mccarten and Acres plus 2 first round draft picks.

None of this post is real and would be agreed on by us or has been discussed and it will never happen period.
A guy in the real know would not spell it McCarten, now would he?????

Just saying!!!!!

As far as I know....

Steele is a very very good chance to be a saint next season.

There is interest in Hartlett but nothing solid yet.

Fyfe and Weller are fantasy at this stage. Likewise Martin.

There is interest in Nathan Brown.

Longer is definitely on the table. Templeton seems like he'll be shopped around.

Pick 10 is going nowhere unless it's part of a deal that upgrades our round one pick.

Armitage is going nowhere.

It would take a 'too good to refuse' offer to see Billings traded.

There are several other potential deals going on behind closed doors that haven't seen the light of day on this forum.

I think Richo and the recruiters are all about building a particular team right now, rather than just grabbing the best players, and will go after particular types of players to fix problem areas- may not be the top picks, may not be the best from other clubs. So look at our stats over the last couple of seasons, and see where we are lacking compared to the top four teams, and I'm sure inside mids and outside runners with good footskills are right near the top.

Just so you know we don't put players on the table or shop them around.
It is not our style.
We wait for other clubs to express interest in our players and then listen to their proposal as to how they intend to acquire them.

Bad choice of words. No player is shopped around.

Let me get this straight takeaway you wouldn't do this 'fantasy' trade?
That's even funnier than the fantasy!
I'd have my reservations. I reckon Billings is going to be quite a player. In the end though I'd probably do the deal.

Just on what i've gathered over the last few pages.

Hartlett, Steele, Lamb and Potentially Mackenzie in. Seems a decent offseason. Get 2 Decent mids, 1 of which can go off half back. Then Mackenzie as a stop gap until HG is ready. Tom Lamb i am a big fan of, dunno how he fits but would be very handy.

so are we planning on entering the draft in the first round still? I liked Scrimshaws game last week.

not sure how i feel about trading Longer. Also can someone tell me whats going on with Lee, Shenton, Murdoch, Fisher, JBT and Templeton (i see the rumours but still) will they be at the club next year?

Don't know if it means anything but Nick Dal Santo was having coffee this morning at Mr. Brightside in Caulfield with Ameet Baines.
Maybe they were catching up for a chat for old times sake or maybe there is something more involved.

didnt we shop/chop McEvoy ?

would we really be interested in Nathan Brown at 28 ?
we could have had Mitch Brown last year @26 for nothing and has the advantage of being a pinch hitter forward

On Nathan Brown, We still do need a mix of experienced players mixed in with our exciting young talent...Look at Hawthorn with Brian Lake, I know we are not in premiership window yet but I don't think we should let age demographic completely rule players out if they are still capable of performing a role adequately.

Personally not for me, but that doesn't mean we are not.
We certainly won't be trading pick 10 for him.
I think this year is the year to go to the draft and top up with more quality kids.
I'd be happy to take Steele and go to draft with 3 picks inside top 30, that would be a real victory.
Then next year go after a star midfielder as a free agent.
Thats just my opinion for the record.

I'd agree Jaxobs but is it next year they're flagging a really strong draft? (they seem to do this annually and then magically a week out the draft goes "thin"... is a trend I've noticed...)

To do that, how do we pay for Steele and get another 2 inside 30? Maybe I wont like the answer

Oliver Florent today really elevated his status. Accumulator. Can spread . Nice skills. Worthy of pick 10.

You'd reckon Billy Longer will be part of that. Surely some interest from other clubs in Eli as well. Lots of ptoential, performed very well in the VFL and couldn't get an AFL game.
There must be some other piece/s of the puzzle that we don't know about yet.

Steele and 3 picks inside 30. That would be awesome and in line with what the club has said about building the list from quality drafting and seeking some cream through FA when the top four push is on. That would seem to make Fyfe an ideal target next year.
It also gives us another year to assess how he's recovered from his busted leg.

Jaxons, is there genuine interest in a mature KPD to fill the gap whilst HG develops? MacKenzie or N.Brown for e.g?

Reading AR's comments in the season review of Tom Lee, he seems to think TL could be a quality KPD if he can get his body right.

Yeah Billy's one, but we still have to pay for Steele, Also You rate Eli's worth more than I do. I can't see him getting anywhere near a high pick, 3rd rounder if were lucky? There still has to be another player going, and one worth inside 30.

Eli and our 3rd to upgrade to a higher pick for Steele? Is it enough?

Not sure what Eli's trade value is. Just reckon he could be in the mix as part of a push to get us picks inside 30.

Well Curren was doing really well in the vfl before he got injured and wouldnt of done any worse than Eli in the AFL.
Interest in Eli would have to come from another club
