Re: Match thread - Saints vs Bulldogs
The amount of inside 50's that go to waste as without Roo we don't have a forward who can kick a goal
Maybe time to upgrade Marshall and see if we can take a mark in the forward line.

Re: Match thread - Saints vs Bulldogs
Our game plan when we attack off HB or through the Centre is to kick to the top of the square.
McCartin & Membrey are leading up and playing pretty high which leaves Gresh, Mav, Billings or a small to have to take a contested mark. Not only are they not marking players they are not getting front and centre because they are flying for marks.
We are clearly a tall short in forward 50, not playing Bruce when Roo went out is the biggest mistake.

Paddy looks totally lost at this level- the forward line is a rabble. I think Richo fell right into the the Dogs hands that quarter, just went way too defensive while the dogs attacked the ball and spread. The midfield are not attacking the contest

Re: Match thread - Saints vs Bulldogs
I guess the few positives are that Stringer has kicked 4 of their last 5 goals, so they haven't got multiple goal kickers. That being said, we're lucky the Bont's radar's been off, otherwise it probably would be game over.
Also, we've had plenty of inside 50s, but still way too much "kick and hope."
The real worry is that I think in the last 10 min of that half they cooked us in the clearances and inside 50s. Prior to Stringer's 3rd goal, we looked well in control and should have been at least 2 goals up.

Foot skills like last week are deplorable. the last 4 scores they had were directly from turnovers by foot. Talk game plan all you like if you keep kicking it to the opposition everything counts for nothing

Re: Match thread - Saints vs Bulldogs
Are we deliberately roosting it into the fifty, or are our forwards too lazy to give a decent lead? shocking waste of effort and domination early. we looked knackered nearing the last third of the second and just made mistake after mistake bringing it out. The dogs are killing us on the turnover.

Will Richo try something different or will he just stick to the same structures?

We are a rabble.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.
Re: Match thread - Saints vs Bulldogs
We stuff around with it in our forward line for 5 minutes then Footscray go straight down the other end a kick a goal
