Quality player, strong body, good by foot and can win his own footy. They can have Milera and TDL - then we'll see how good their supplements program is.

I hate it how they call it a supplements program when it was a drug cheating exerciseJimmy O'Dea wrote:Quality player, strong body, good by foot and can win his own footy. They can have Milera and TDL - then we'll see how good their supplements program is.

Agreed. And after the Lovett trade, we should never be trading with them, EVER.mr six o'clock wrote:No team should trade with Bombers or adelaide this year !

Myers isn't a free agent.Megamaguire wrote:Just hope the Saints can do as well and use th free agency to our advantage for once.
Myers may be a good prospect but with the guilatine hanging over Ess. and the anti-drug people probably very keen to make an example of them trading or sourcing players from the bummers may be a bad move.
And didn't we use free agency to our advantage last year? We lost a player who wanted to leave and in exchange picked up Hickey, a potential ten year ruckman.

What has making a trade for Hickey got to do with free agency?
The Saints are coming!
Re: Saints Chasing David Myers
Compo for Goddard used in trade for Hickey...
"The Saints will receive Hickey and picks No.26 and 47. The Suns will get pick No.13 as well as 37 and 57. Hickey, 21, has been recruited to partner No.1 ruckman Ben McEvoy."

We got Hickey with the compensation pick we got for BJ. We also picked up Roberton as a delisted free agent.True Blue Sainter wrote:bergholt wrote:Myers isn't a free agent.Megamaguire wrote:Just hope the Saints can do as well and use th free agency to our advantage for once.

That's right.
For some reason I recalled us using the BJ compo pick in the Lee trade, but evidently not.
Roberton is/was an extremely good pick up through the free agency model.

Don't think Roberton was a proper free agent. He basically was delisted because he asked for a trade and one wasn't done so he was basically delisted and was able to be considered the same as free agent. He was a free agent in name but had only been at Freo a few years. it wasn't really their intention to delist him just a poorly handled trade by Freo. He would have just been in the preseason draft and got to us anyway.
