Watters?
Happened to hear Dermie being asked about assistant coaches he thought could successfully go to the next level.
He sounded very impressed with Watters and his ability to think creatively through structures.
He said it pained him to refer to Watters as smart but he felt impelled to put it like that.
This was on SEN last week some time in the middle of the day.
If it was a sheedy recommendation well you could safely bin it but what do you all think out there/

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Might work for Pelchen too given the club history.Old Mate wrote:I wouldn't rule him out. If he ends up being the best person for the job then we should go for it
Who would he pick as assistants?
Can someone verify his performance in the VFL? Did he fall into a strong team of develop the team to perform?
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

yes, I too have an uneasy feeling that we could see the Ayres cabbage roll into Moorabbin.............what a complete nightmare if so, i was only joking about this a few weeks ago to some work mates........and FFS ......I log on here and people are seriously talking bout having this goose at our club?Moorabbin Man wrote:And given the sheer competence of our Board, I have an uneasy feeling that something like that may happen. Have heard, from a usually reliable source with links to the club that he is
under serious consideration for a coaching role in some capacity.
Obviously waiting till this weekend is over before starting talks, but the
feelers have been put out apparently.
Honestly the game of AFL is past Ayres. NO coach comes with gurantees but we do know that coming out of succesful systems of the Premiership variety help - Watters at least has this.
Whatever we do lets get serious about going hard for some top notch assistants.
