The Club's actions leave me to believe that they have far better than a fair hand, but they are gambling a lot.
My point is that sacking Lovett was a step too far that need not have been made at this point in time. No harm would have been done to exile him to Sandy to train and play. Given his apparent penchant for self-destruction, it wouldn't be long till we had multiple visible reasons to pull the plug on him.
That would have been the safer option. Sacking him now is just putting out a sign saying "Sue Me Now!".
You don't think the club sponsors were putting any pressure on? I'm sure they were thrilled to have their brands associated with him. How would you feel if we'd hung onto that dropkick and lost a swathe of sponsors as a result?
I am sure the sponsors did put pressure on, but who are they more liable to support, the Premiers or the Runners-up?
We would have been seen to take punitive action whilst not slamming the door in his face. Geelong's handling of Stokes was how it should have been done. All relevant parties were satisfied with that outcome.

How much money has the tooth fairy given you over the years. Why would sacking a player effect a criminal court case? He was sacked because of the rape charge. All the other things were incidental. he havent even trained with us for 8 weeks so how did he break any rules in that time. The club have rightly said there were other reasons as well as the incident on 24 December.
He may not have trained at the club but we provided him with a gym membership, personal trainer and skills coaching. He would also have been given a training schedule. It would be quite easy for him to have broken the rules....
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons; for you are a quick and tasty morsel.
Reincarnated says this is bulls***, Reincarnated says that no organisation disintergrates so swiftly after an event of a potential rapist trying to get money out of us
Fact is, Reincarnated and the club is so much stronger than Lovett, so he can go blow himself

Change the name of your thread to "Is Andrew Lovett a Sacred Cow?" and see how you go re pages.
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

I am known as a troll on this forum however what has to be said is going to be!
To 'Grumpy One'!
I just read your post and in my opinion you have not got a clue about The AL sacking and the politics that have occured behind the scenes, not only at our football ball club but at the AFL. Please take a deep breath think about the power brokers who govern our code. They have and will continue to protect the AFL brand including our football club! We will not lose one cent! Mark the troll's words! The stakes are too high!
