Grand Final replay Tickets

Post: # 998939Post bobmurray »

Here is what AFL .com says.....

THE GRAND final replay between Collingwood and St Kilda will take place at the MCG next Saturday afternoon, with two five-minute periods to be added in the event of another draw.

More Magpies and Saints members will be able to attend the game - to be played at 2.30pm - with up to 16,000 further tickets to be made available.

Competing club members can purchase tickets from 9am on Monday while AFL members will get their opportunity from 9am on Tuesday.

The general public will have access to any remaining tickets at 9am on Wednesday.

Ticket prices will remain the same, as will uniforms and game-day scheduling.

Arrangements for any events during what is the second grand final week will be announced by the League on Monday.

Not a lot of detail there from Dimwit and Co.

I'm assuming from that information that AFL members with St Kilda club support can get their ticket on Tuesday from 9.00 am...

Gee.... i'd hate to read that incorrectly though.....

One would think there will be more tickets available to club members next week as I wouldn't expect there to be such a demand from the Corporate swill.

You would think with us getting extra tickets that all SC members will get a seat this time. But is it going to be a registration and then allocation, or just straight ticket sales with SC having priority period. Very confusing. I guess we will know more tomorrow.

They are already regsitered.

Howeer some SC Members may not have registered if they could not make this Saturday. Not sure what happens to anyone in this situation.

I would suspect that some who went today may not get more tickets due to the cost.

I guess by opening it up to all registered members they are effectively imlying that the take-up rate will be less.

I would also imagine there might be more tickets available this week as less of the Corporate Parasites will attend.

As said, Social Club members and September Saints can book from 9am to 12noon, all other members from 1.00pm Monday and general public from Wednesday.
There will be 16,000 seats extra which I assume the AFL will split between the clubs evenly, as this equals the 1,000 series tickets each club gets and pawn off as corporate packages.
I heard that initial GF allocation ws 13,000 each, so there will be 21,000 each for next week.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

What happens if the ticketek website has a meltdown, as per people rushing to get tickets for other big events such as concerts etc?

I'm a social club member, and Mum's going to be online to get the tickets for the family (7 of us) from 9am tomorrow; but I'm just worried.

Is there the possibility that some of us could be unlucky and miss out, through no fault of our own?

What is our membership breakdown does anyone know? If we have around 40,000 members and you say for instance the following

Say 8,000 are AFL/MCC members who will get tickets through there
5,000 are Interstate/overseas members who possibly can't get back for the replay
5,000 are members who can't go again for some reason.

these figures are just a guess but taking into account normal finals when this system has operated with ticket sales then most saints members should be able to get a ticket if they want.

There is hope. I would have hoped that you could get tickets direct from outlets as the phoe and net system doesn't really handle the pressure normally.
