For the true believers

Post: # 998357Post markinUSA »

For the true believers

For the effort our boys have shown to get here – let’s appreciate that;

For strength through loyalty – let’s live up to our motto;

For the early years, when we couldn’t win… let’s show ’em;

For those who said ‘Save our Saints’ – and did – let’s fly the flag high;

For those who showed loyalty through the eighties – let’s win today;

For the guys who died before they could see today – let’s make them smile in heaven;

For those who gave their best and didn’t get this far – let’s raise the Cup;

For Jack and Trevor - let’s do it in their memory;

For every kick, punch, mark, chase, handpass … let’s cheer;

For the champions, and the try-hards, and everyone in-between – let’s be proud of the jumper;

For every true believer – it’s time… SAINTS TO WIN!

Win lose or draw.....I'm very proud of our boys and the club. To get to our second GF in a row with the obstacles put in our way has been fantastic.

Hitting top form tomorrow is the key. Who cares what happened R1-25.....R26 is what matters.

Go Saints!!!!

Sorry but a win is the only option for me today. Anything else is again a wasted season and nothing I will get excited or proud about. Win this thing saints.

I want to win mate, so don't misinterpret what I say. I have followed this club from the early 60's, and support them no matter what.

Great post Markin'. For the uninitiated clearly shows why this is not just another round of footy. It's a GRAND FINAL and they don't come around cheaply. Loved the Save our Saints reference and the Jack/Trevor tribute. I still have my Save our Saints program from a game that was played between various (mainly B-list) celebrities at Moorabin to raise funds. Let's win it fellas, just WIN THAT THING.

For Brian Walsh and Bill Stephenson, and of course Jack Barker.

I'll be carrying a few cheers with me for a good mate of mine - Shane Byrne, who died a month ago today and was as passionate a Saint as I ever met.

C'mon boys - do it for yourselves, and do it for all of us.
