Call to Arms – Thomas Bent Statue

Post: # 997440Post Santa »

Driving into work today…..the Thomas Bent statue had a Collingwood scarf on it. Need someone to get down to Cnr of Nepean Hwy and Bay St and rip the bloody thing off.

he'll be dressed in saints colours if we win ... not before. someone jumped the gun in 1997 and we know what happened then.

by putting the scarf on, a collingwood fan may have unwittingly and unknowingly jinxed his side.

i've been enlightening every collingwood fan i see about The Curse of Tommy Bent.

of course, the magpies might try to reverse the hoodoo by putting him in st kilda colours before the game, but, unfortunately for them, the damage is already done.

Just have all your gear ready to dress the statues in front of the Westpac Centre after the game!

I always found it ironic that Westpac has a red W and is emblazoned across the black and white of that place - black white and red all over!

Tommy was as crooked as his name, it is a piece of footy folklore that we no longer need as tomorrow we start a new chapter in history.

It will be nice to see that dirty old mange ridden polyester dangling there reminding the filth supporters of the day they failed.

doesn't matter.

the filth were first to proclaim the premiership by putting up the collingwood scarf, so the jinx is on them.

there's no washing the stain off now.

I plan to make a pilgimage their sometime tomorrow night.
Would be a good place to sing the song.
