Simple with Swan.
When he does have it, need to pressure the kick, and make sure to pressure all the players near where he is going.
The reason he looks so good is that the players get to where he kicks it, he doesn't kick it to them.
A team who zones as well as we do, makes it a lot harder for a player like him to be effective.

The Saints just need to stop Swan getting a run at a contest, or his running hard to make space, we do this kind of stopping pretty well. Our mids need to get first hands on the ball at centre bounces. RL would no doubt be aware of the the hard charging the Woods do to back each other up, but by using zones to stop their run and link up, their free flowing game can be stopped. They remind me of Geelong in the 80s, where the midfield used to rack up a lots of possessions, won al ot of games, but come the GF, the opposition worked them out.

I know Pies didn't have much to play for, but what you've said was evident there. Had 34 touches but was not damaging. Actually used it pretty poorly. Remember seeing him kick out of bounds on the full etc.
Completely forget anything by any player in round 22 from either our side or theres.StNoodles wrote:Yep, see Hawks game in round 22.HSVKing wrote:Simple with Swan.
