First half against the Dogs wasn't really wet. A bit of drizzle made the ball slippery, and we tried to play dry weather football for too long. No comparison with the 2nd half against Geelong where there was heavy rain for the entire half.WaggaSaint wrote:Big outcome on the game, if the way we played in the 2nd half against the Cats and the first half (which appeared really wet on telly) against the Dogs.

The ground had a lot of water in it though. Every time the ball hit the deck a pool of water splashed off it. It seemed to dry out after half time and the ball looked to be bouncing better. (Just my observation on memory) I'd have to watch the replay.....again.Superboot wrote:First half against the Dogs wasn't really wet. When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

That's my point - trying to play dry weather footy, when the ground was very wet. Pretty fundamental stuff to avoid overhead marking when it's very slippery. Thankfully it looked to dry up in the second half, and that's when things came good.St. Luke wrote:The ground had a lot of water in it though. IMO, if it'd stayed dry in the Geelong game, we would have beaten them by a similar margin to what Collingwood beat them by. Praying for a dry ground.....
Nice one chopps....
