But even though the lid is off, we must recognise that the job is only HALF done.

Must finish the season by winning the ONLY match that matters.

Everything else...streaks, players, highs, lows, etc is irrelevant. Reflect later.

One game. 120 minutes. 120% per cent effort. If we lose, it hasn't been a failed season. But it will be a failure to perform when we need too.

No failure should be tolerated. This club is all about winning - and that's what we need to do this week.

Finish the job, Saints.
Hmmm, 2010 lid still on.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

hmmm, interesting point - can we enjoy Grand Final week as much as last year?

For mine, I doubt it.

Unless we look a million bucks in the Prelim and the winner of Cats/Pies looks cops some significant injuries, it may change.....

I didn't enjoy '09 at all.

I took the week off to really get into Grand Final week...do all the stuff..Parade, training etc...

Got a legitimate dose of the flu on the sunday prior and if floored me for the week. I kept trying to do stuff but it just set me back further and further. Made it to the Parade...and stood in the rain with some crew from here...saw sweet FA....went home and shivered on the couch for ten hours.

Then I showed up to training on the thursday @ Moorabbin.....at like 9am.
One of the social club blokes...I cant remember his name, came up to me as I was standing on the terrace....told me that training wasn't until 2pm or so....
I was like "WTF...how did I get here"? Went home, crashed and missed it altogether.

On game day I was still stuffed. Pumped up on so much pseudoephedrine just to keep my eyes open..... Had a few @ the Corner before the game...lasted until just before half time. I was rooted. Patchy memory of the second half...I can remember talking out loud though...in the crowd...running a commentary. Watched the replay the next day.

2010 is gonna be different. Beat the Dogs and the lid is right off. This is why we pour so much time and effort into it. We are in the comp to win premierships. Sure we have won bugger all but that just makes us DUE.

If we get there...we are going to win the fucker.

Make no mistake we are gonna win this.

Just have to get there.

Quality bump Ev.

My lid is firmly on and will stay that way until Saturday evening at around 10:15 PM.

As many have stated, no point having a lid if you're in the big dance.... Mind you, no point NOT having one if you're not there YET.

get there Sainters.

WIN.

*goes to bump the thread of win*

ON.

Firmly.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
